If I recall correctly when the St. Johns Edge were an NBLC team there was 2 local refs but a crew chief was brought in.

I don’t know if this was still true but back in January there were more Technical fouls given at NFLD home games than the rest of the league combined.

The commentary notes it but you see Bill Jones losing it at the refs and blaming them. There was a number of questionable calls and I think this is a byproduct of that. Not that it’s excusable but there is a root cause.

Short version: Tempers flair up and everyone gets involved.

Long Version: The standard of refereeing needs to be looked at in this league. I’ve seen too often poor officiating leading to pissed off players and coaches leading to refs losing control of a game and handing out techs like candy.

Just saying, Jakorie might have been doing some training with Peter Easton (this was by far the single greatest experience I’ve ever had as a mascot)
