I have a different take.
I have come to think of him as the Donfather, as in "I have a deal for you (that you better not ignore)"
Mixed with a little Empire Strikes Back "Pray I do not change the terms of the deal any further)"

Technically doesn't "dumb" mean unable to speak (intelligently)?
So many Americans are so very loud and vociferous.

The term that seems to apply is "subvert the magical girl genre"

How many big Tech companies are technically headquartered in Ireland? For tax purposes?

It also assumes familiarity with much of the Known Space short stories.

The world setting was too big for character growth?
Or hard sci-fi authors from the 1970s aren't great with "story"?

Does anybody miss the good old days of the internet, when a call for a race-war brought forth a lot of car driving extras for the first "Fast and Furious" movie?

Fare dodging pigeons. That has to go in somewhere in a RoL story.

The concept sounds fascinating and I have read the books several times, but getting the rules and a group together have eluded me.

Don't you mean Buddhist?

Now I remember, it was part of an episode of QI

I mean legally.
I don't recall the exact details but it was during an etymological discussion on "knacker" and "kicker" I think. From a region in the historical danelaw.
Also, apparently most Europeans ate horsemeat until a 9th century pope said it was too pagan

Didn't the last supplier of horse meat for human consumption close in England in the 1930s?

And while I can't be certain, supposedly the mountainous backgrounds seen in Whisper of the Heart match those of where Pom Poko was set, same location many years later.

I do enjoy the early Studio Ghibli movies

BTW Whisper of the Heart is my go to Valentine's Day movie.
The adaption of the song "Country Road" I think is something special.

Couldn't say. I watch anime in Japanese with subtitles wherever possible.

There is so many things wrong with this question.
Is the dynamics of pitching and hitting a baby like that of a baseball?
Do the rules allow a baby to be substituted for a ball, otherwise it can't be the winning hit.
Would any batsman strike a baby voluntarily?
How do you tell baby is "Christian"?

I think there have been similar lines in other anime. Driving me mad trying to recall which ones.
Now I am wondering how this will be worked into RoL.
