Interestingly, my roleplaying group keeps claiming that I'm the "vampire fan" of the group. While the reason I've watched to many vampires movies is because ... there's more of them than werewolf movies? And tbh, a lot of werewolf movies are kind of bad. But vampires still hunt and bite, so...

And I'm not talking about those who are afraid of abuse and violence. More stuff like "this wonderful person asked me for a date, but what if we get into a relationship and later have to... BREAK UP? I might just decline the date to play it safe". Afraid of emotional risks. But that's part of life?!

Have young people become more afraid of getting their heart broken or breaking someone else's heart? It used to be "'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". But I've seen so many social media posts from young adults where they are afraid to date.

This seems like a common experience among therians. I've seen posts from young tiktok-therians with similar experiences. Kids feeling abandoned by friends who "used to be therian". Telling someone everything, and they later turning that against you, mocking you for "still being into that". It hurts.

When I was a teen, I was desperate to find other "werewolves" like me. Asked friends, posted online. Formed a "pack", we howled together and had fun. But in a year or two, everyone else grew tired of the "game". It wasn't a game for me, and I thought it had been real for them too.
