Claim by the White House:

The Supreme Court ruling made it “very clear” that Trump was “well within his constitutional authority” to carry out deportations under the Alien Enemies Act.

What the Supreme Court actually ruled:

Trump may not be a Russian asset, but he’s a huge asset to Russia.

The Bible clearly teaches the law cannot bring righteousness, which is why the whole Christian Nationalist project seems absurd.

I mean, if you weren’t a Christian, I get the appeal. But a Christian dependent on grace because they recognize what the law can’t do?

I don’t get it.

This is simultaneously petty and dangerously chilling.

At this point, I’m less amazed by A Christmas Carol’s visitation of three magical ghosts who can travel in time than the miracle of a rich man actually feeling convicted, and repenting so fully, he becomes a paragon for generosity and community.

“Imagine a pastor hosting a comedy night while debating the merits of venison versus social media etiquette.”

This is so off.

Venison is clearly superior.

Woohoo! I wish we were. But the only venison we have came from my 14 year old son.

The Hunter Biden pardon is another data point confirming many American’s suspicion that politicians are only in it for themselves and that, on the whole, politics don’t work for average folks.

History tells us that social anxiety leads societies to make horrific choices that often involve increased suffering for already marginalized and hurting communities.

My fear is in the adage, “History repeats itself.”

On this Christ the King Sunday, let us remember that our king looks nothing like the kings of this world.

Our king had no palace, no worldly possessions, no army, was a prisoner, beaten, and crucified and it is through those acts that he defeated his enemies and secured peace for his kingdom.

Just learned of something called demisexuality “which is a type of asexuality and is defined as having no sexual attraction without emotional connection” and, call me a prude, but it simply sounds like a healthy sexual ethic.

People who are upset that the people they don’t like (but who they like to antagonize) went to another platform are telling on themselves.

They need someone to antagonize and without that they become irrelevant.

Yes, yes. With everything, it can be abused. I guess I didn’t have in mind those situations.

I’ve got so much compassion for your situation. I am curious about starting with capping the housing allowance. Can you explain your thinking here?

My thought is that it is a means for churches to increase real income to pastors without increasing the burden on the church.

I genuinely hope this last point does not happen. Twitter of 5-10 years ago was full of robust discussion that, while heated at times, was leaps and bounds more constructive that what Twitter has become. If this could be the former, it would be good enough.
