My friend Amalβs son is in critical condition after being shot and needs urgent medical care. The costs are beyond what the family can afford. Any donation, big or small, can help save his life. Please support and share.

It is very hard but also very nice to sit with him and just hang out and chat.
I give myself 30-45 minutes between dropping him off at nursery and me starting work to sit somewhere and basically recover a bit from the journey/any upheaval.
I rely on the pushchair as a walking aid so when he outgrows it I'm not sure what we will do (backpack, crutches, but holding his hand how???) But not there yet
Two years of commuting with the toddler this week. Relying on my spreadsheets, train/bus apps, no travel issues (lol), and using his nap times on other days in order to get my own rest (lol he is about to drop the last one), and using my ADP to pay for a Mother's Help one non-workday a week.
Mine lifts up my dress or top to slap (not at all gently) my tummy and he laughs as it wobbles. He goes "WOBBLE WOBBLE". It's somewhat healing.
SORRY just realised one of my five needs to know how to perfectly open a packet of crisps such that it can be shared
Husband says:
Five friends with very similar interests and knowledge bases so they're not going to be very good but they all enjoy taking part together.

Dream within a dream. Had a dream which featured a big black cow in the garden of my childhood home (which was entirely enclosed). Woke up and went to a Philosophy Fair in β¨οΈ Europe β¨οΈ, got overstimulated but also received swag. Told people at the event about cow dream. Woke up again. Where's my swag?
Oh man I forgot about this
The tinnitus is LOUD tonight
Of course you can't see her, she's perilously thin
Thrilled that Deadloch is back.
Never be cruel, never be cowardly, and never ever eat pears!
A woman seated on a bus, her whole body out of the shot except for her arm and her opposite hand, her hand being held in a thumbs up position against her inner corner of elbow and forearm. She is wearing all black and a black scarf with red roses printed on jt.
People who use BSL: there's no usual sign for "crutch" but what do we think about using the "help" sign against the inner corner of the forearm and elbow? This was recommended to me by someone who asked other signers and I quite like it. Idea being you move your thumb back and forth twice.

I read this the other way
OH this is starting at ours but were glitching lmao
I think she just wants to watch Rivals and be paid for it.
I have no words to describe the face I just made
More generally, I used to use a walking stick but found I was gripping the handle tightly because I was worried I would fall, which caused so much pain. So I changed to a forearm crutch with closed cuff so I could redistribute the weight through my arm. It changed my life, oh my gosh.
I'm making a thread about it because if you have mobility difficulties and want to have children, prams/pushchairs will help a lot but there are so many things to consider. Even down to how comfortable it is for your wrists.
Kind of don't mind, for the most part, about the weight of the stroller re: use as a walking aid, as I will always need a sit-down during walks anyway. Just interested to see if there's any impact on my knees with continued use.
I am so grateful to my friend because having the chance to trial it before the trip means I can decide if it's worth taking or not. Will it cause me more pain or will my wrists ease into it? I have fold-up crutches which may be better for storing.
It's lightweight which is normally a plus but I use the pushchair as a walking aid so need some weight to it (but not too much). But oh my gosh this one takes up so much less space. We can even go in a small corner shop.
Spending a week practicing using the umbrella travel stroller that we borrowed from a friend, as we are going away soon. So many things to consider like...how to store my crutches, the angle of my wrists and arms being different (causing pain). Cont.
I know you're in SW - can you DM me where? I am going back to SW at start of May to see family (who are based around Glos, Chelt, Stroud) x
Back to transcribing the RAF Navigator's diary entries for 1941. It's July. He's described the flying and descending between the "French Coast of North Africa and the island of Malta" like "stepping from the cool breezes into the hot houses of the Arboretum in the Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh".
A drawing of a realistic dog wearing a tie saying; "I need to lock in and prove that I am capable. I need to be taken seriously." While a drawing of a cartoon dog says; "I need to stay silly and whimsical lest I lose the very essence of myself." Perpetrating an endless cycle
