Headline from BBC news saying family pay tribute after head teacher dies in crash.
The headteacher of the grammar school round the corner from our house was killed last night in a road traffic accident. I’ve just found out he was killed while cycling home from work and feel absolutely sick. The whole neighbourhood and local community is devastated.

Saw these protests on O'Connell St yesterday.
Surely Ireland (and the rest of the world) will see a surge in pv?🔆doesn't rely on ports, refineries or narrow sea passages.
Ireland's protests show that ff dependence leaves usat the mercy of national and local issues 🚜not just geopolitics.

Another on my why-is-no-one&talking-about-this list!
Most people think that money councils set aside for children's social care is spent on...children's social care?
But lots of it is going to profiteering venture capitalists!

Why do some killer motorists get short prison sentences? UK road safety laws are letting them off the hook | Sally Kyd
Two court cases last month illustrate how confusion over legal definitions are feeding into a culture of poor driving standards, says law professor Sally Kyd
“There is work to do as a society to reframe how we think about driving.
Many drivers see speed limits, cameras and enforcement as personal inconveniences. We must communicate the concept that driving is a responsibility, not an entitlement”

Graphic titled “You’ve told us... it’s essential to be able to transport children using mobility aids” has a photo of a man with one leg wearing a flat cap riding an e-assist cargo trike away from the camera with a child in the front compartment. They are on a road, going past a playground. The man is saying “I use an electric cargo trike to do most of the things I would otherwise need a car to do. It’s stable enough to take my granddaughter to school plus it’s powerful enough to carry the weekly shopping. My cargo trike gives me more independence, frees up my wife from having to do everything and makes being a grandfather more fun”.
At the bottom, hashtag MobilityJustice and the Wheels for Wellbeing logo
Thank you so much to everyone who's shared their mobility aid stories and talked about what works for you - and what isn't working yet. Together, we'll keep working for better mobility options for all Disabled people.

It's “an absolute scandal that having a bit more money gets you not just a nicer high street – it gets you a longer life expectancy, it gets you cleaner air."
We need more MPs advocating for #CleanAir and addressing the inequalities in people's exposure to pollution across communities.

Labour have been smearing the Greens on our evidenced-based approach to drugs. If the PM won’t listen to us, and he won’t listen to the experts, will he listen to the families at @anyoneschild.bsky.social, who have lost loved ones under the UK’s current negligent drug policies?

Ministers delay new rules for low-carbon housing in England
Homes built from March 2028 will produce 75% less greenhouse gas emissions than those built according to existing 2013 standards
"It is outrageous that people will be buying homes that are expensively heated with gas when we have perfectly good technology – heat pumps – that can be installed instead."
My comments @theguardian.com new homes in the UK still using gas heating.

Is the government letting people in Trafford down?
'Our rise in council tax is a direct result of political choices by our Labour government'
Pretty shocking that none of the Labour councillors spoke up when I called out their government at the budget meeting.
So I gave them another chance this week ... Literally no one in Trafford Labour is willing to defend their government's record.
