there’s SO MUCH left unfinished over the past 4 years because I often held myself to such high standards of quality that I would get incredibly burnt out and just stop. i’ve been learning how to balance out my work throughout the day and it’s been helping quite a bit

I think there’s a lot to improve if/when I go back to finish it, especially the values and lack of environments. But i’m still very proud of the work I did on this despite it being years old, and I think this piece was a great starting point (it was my first true comic I had ever done)!

SFX: “KRK KRAKK” Clarce is still looking down at his pamplet. He assumes the cracking noises are his stomach rumbling. Clarce: “Sorry, I didn’t have lu…” Panel 3: Clarce finally looks up in shock. Clarce: “…uuuuuUUUHHHHH” Panel 4: An open panel showcasing the GINGERBEAST: the gingerbread house has tripled in size, lunging towards the two with a roar. They look on in horror. Clarce: “HOLY $#1%!”

Panel 1: Clarce smacks the ginger beast to smithereens, in a way cats usually do when they see items on table ripe for knocking over. SFX: “BAMBAMBAMBAMBAM” Panel 2: Scaredy and Clarce are looking down at the mess of crumbs. Panel 3: Same panel, but the two are looking up at each other. Clarce: “…is it dead-“ Panel 4: To Scaredy’s delight and Clarce’s confusion, a small gingerbread man joyfully pops out from the debris. GingerBaker: “HELLO BRAVE HEROES!” Panel 5: The GingerBaker points to the rubble with a smile. GB: “Oh THANK you for vanquishing that HORRID BEAST!” Panel 6: GB: “My BEAUTIFUL and LOVING wife and I have been trapped in there for years!” Text at top reads like an advertisement: “WIFE tm $19.99; Now with 100% more wife juice! LESS preservatives (we think)”
