"French Turn" In New York in the late seventies, Celeste and Arthur are having an affair. Set against the backdrop of their self-involved partners and wealthy, claustrophobic circle of friends, "French Turn" is a response to F. Scott Fitzgerald's early piece "The Popular Girl." The story is set after the sexual revolution and considers queer carnal impulses absent from Fitzgerald's conversation about self-inflicted tragedies of the upper class.

"Saint Jane" Jane’s boyfriend has died young in a horrible accident. She’s moved to North Carolina to live with her maiden aunt. She’s also started hallucinating about a slender ghoul that balances on the edge of her desk: Sybil, her childhood friend, who’s grown impossibly tall and is still wearing her old school uniform. Sybil lurks around the house and asks Jane insensitive questions about why her life has come to a sudden halt.

"The Wizard" An immortal wizard with crippling depression and the power to tell the future lives in Akron, Ohio. His help is sought by a woman named Sara, who’s unaware that her own mother and grandmother have both visited him with the same problem.
