good luck. I wish it wasn't tech week at the college so I could catch it live.

thanks for supporting me in the comments. Part of me is now tempted to write a dairy about my concerns about Newsom as a trans person, but that seems like it might be playing with fire

I actually don't think he'd lose. I think him winning would be bad for the non-rich in the country, even if he threw us a few crumbs. And when the working class inevitably got screwed they'd go back and vote for the next Trump-like candidate to blow it all up again in the next election in vengeance

I managed to read the whole thing but held back from replying in the comments. Probably going to wade into the comments today since it has had such a response, but we'll see where my head ends up after reading what was added since last night

Delirious, my feet trudge by our windy lake
Blowing about those bare rocks
The blue crash of death will run black
Life is but a ship
Shot over the luscious sky

Dreams pounding above sleep
Through a misty forest he soars
Sprayed with hot summer rain
Sordid wants bitterly urge him to stop
Languidly beneath the moon

Elaborate storms want to be said
Together they recall a thousand lives
What she never says
He must still sit there
Singing his sad love at no one
Crying a symphony of the goddess
So drunk on time, he aches

Visions
by I. C.

It plays as a TV in my head
I see beauty in these tiny apparatuses
Gorgeous language like a chant
Within their sweet picture
They whisper and lust for meaning
No tongue but a friendly spring
An enormous sea of sayings

Seeing a poem I wrote back in 2012 and realizing it hits a little different on the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Going to try and put it here and hope the format limitations don't butcher it too much. At the time I didn't give it a title but if I had to title it now I'd probably call it Visions...

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Obama was a state senator before being a US senator and was a community organizer before that. Again I'm not too deep into Platner's background but I don't think he has any experience like that.

And also I'm not in his state so my opinion only goes so far, but I guess I was questioning why people were so set on the only two choices being Mills or Platner this early in the process.

Ok, but I feel like if for example AOC had gone straight to run for Senate, the amount of people telling her to take it slow would really dwarf the pushback I'm seeing on Platner, and I feel like some of the wider acceptance of Platner's candidacy is at least partially rooted in privilege.

My point is, with people worrying about another Fetterman and those saying Platner isn't fit for elected office, I feel someone with the background Platner has might want to aim for something with a shorter term limit or something a little more local as their first foray into politics

What I don't understand is why he's jumping straight to being a senator. Am I missing part of the story where he's been in politics before? I feel like he should start off in local politics to actually have some legislative accomplishments to point to in order to get people to trust what he says

Realizing how much of that scarcity is a construct of our current economic situation is frustrating

Went to the No Kings 2 in Livermore CA today because I have work out here later, but still was energized by all the people upset with the administration exercising their right to protest. #NoKings

Had 2 things 2 weeks ago that I'm still "riding the high" from. First I got to meet up with my sister who I hadn't seen in almost 3 years and like myself had also come out as trans in that time & on my way home I stopped in at the college I attended 20 years ago to meet with the revived theater club

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

Sign from first no kings is my current profile pic. Putting the pic from right after I finished making it so it's bigger in the thread. Probably bringing it to the second No Kings protest as well

So great to see a game I really enjoy getting a shout-out, and more people learning about it in the process.

probably more about my hobbies and work I'm proud of. But really I'd post less overall and probably spend less time on social media as I have come to rely on it as one of my sources of information on what is happening against our community

Just pointed out to my friends on facebook that the HF proposal would likely get me labeled a TIVE because of my protest sign I had at the no kings protest and also linked your article
