I’m a volunteer at my local museum in rural Suffolk, UK, and I’m currently transcribing the records of the local Poor House from 1774 and revealing the social history of our area. Not a specialist, but it’s a skill I’m finding a use for. Lots of local history is uncovered by volunteers like me.
