Massive budget cuts for US science proposed again by Trump administration Budget proposal would also curb federal payments for scientific publishing.

I will say this again: Science isn’t just something that nerds do, it’s the foundation of the modern world.

It’s why this app exists. It’s why child mortality rate isn’t 50% anymore. It’s how we’re able to launch people to the moon. It’s how we’re able to grow food that feeds half the world.

A large-scale dataset of functional mouse ganglion cell layer responses We present the All-GCL dataset, a large-scale resource of functional two-photon Ca2+-imaging recordings with rich meta-data information from more than 80,000 cells in the ganglion cell layer (GCL) of ...

We’re excited to share ALL-GCL: a large-scale dataset of 2P Ca²⁺ imaging from 80,000+ cells in the mouse retinal ganglion cell layer, collected over 9 years. Includes rich metadata, shared stimuli & cell-type assignments designed for type-specific analyses, modeling, and ML.

Decoupling of visual feature selectivity in the retinocollicular pathway Schwartz and Matsumoto et al. show that visual feature selectivity for luminance and motion is coupled in the retina but becomes decoupled in the superior colliculus. This transformation reorganizes t...

Excited to share our new work on visual information processing in the retinocollicular pathway. We discovered that while luminance responses can predict motion responses in retinal ganglion cells, this prediction does not hold in the superior colliculus cells.

Yesterday I presented my PhD work at the European Retina Meeting. 👁️🐭It was a wonderful experience to share my research and hear so much inspiring talks.

I’m truly grateful to my lab and collaborators for their support along the way!

Seeing the world through the lens of oscillations - we are delighted to share our new paper where we demonstrate that anatomically resolved oscillatory bursts reveal dynamic motifs of thalamocortical activity during naturalistic stimulus viewing (doi.org/10.1016/j.ne...).

PhotoNeuro: A compact photodetector for synchronization of visual stimulus presentation during behavioral experiments in neuroscience Presenting visual stimuli in neuroscience experiments often requires the combination of analogue signals that carry information about the visual cue presented on the LCD display. Such signals are ofte...

For anyone working on vision research, Xavier from the MakingLab @crick.ac.uk developed a compact photodetector for synchronization of visual stimulus presentation during behavioral experiments. Compact, low cost and open-source. #OpenHardware #DIYResearch www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
