I leave #PAXU close to tears

Good tears

A little over a month ago, this was nothing more than a concept. In that time we pulled so much together to curate a space for all!

The people that we worked with - @stellaluna.tv, Philly LARP society, our Guildmasters, Hosts and guests gave it EVERYTHING…

The performances and the production value are TOP TIER.

Yes 100%. A public statement that UKGE does not support genAI, clear labelling of tables, and a requirement to declare genAI usage when booking a stand/promo. An asterix on the programme would be good too. This is so short-sighted of them.

5 months ago 2 0 0 0

Incredibly disappointing from UKGE and I really hope they think about how many artists, writers, designers, and creators are against the use of AI in the industry, and WHY.

Promoting games and products that use it is pretty poor, but deleting the comments of those pointing it out is insulting.

A game master sat behind a wooden game master screen looking down at their notes. They hold a pencil in their hand and are wearing blue d&d dice earrings. On the game master screen, an initiative order on white cards and the logo of Moonshine Adventure Company is carved in the wood. In a purple text box reads “hire our GMs”.

For every £1 you've spent on a certain wizarding franchise in your childhood, you must now eat a tub of ice cream, take a lovely bath or buy some nice dungarees.

Is it just me or does Daggerheart feel very nautical? Like deep in its bones.

Yes do! I had another Final Fantasy X run a few months ago - it was like a warm bath.

Campaign 4 sounds really exciting and I'm sure everyone will knock it out of the park, but..

D&D instead of Daggerheart?
Tad disappointing.

I've been thinking a lot about Legends and Lattes by @travisbaldree.bsky.social recently - about the magic of the right people finding each other at the right moment (I won't spoil it).

Gee, Ed, Khalil and the rest of the GM team are definitely part of that story for us, and I feel very grateful.

TREATING EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT: THE PRECURSOR TO SAFETY TOOLS
If you find the idea of safe words and specific tools at the gaming table embarrassing or awkward, why not try these phrases that serve the same purpose but with slightly more social flexibility? You’ve probably been using them for years already. If they don’t work for you, you can use the tools as described.

RED
“Hell no.”
“I’m not feeling it. Can we change it?”
“Nah, I don’t want to tell that sort of story.”
“I get grossed out by that sort of thing, let’s do something else.”
“Hard no from me on that one, chief.”

YELLOW
“Okay, but be classy about it.”
“I don’t like this bit. I’m going to get a drink; gimme a shout when it’s done.”
“Ew, don’t go into detail, I’m not into it.”
*look of disgust, head shake*

GREEN
“Hell yes.”
“Yes, brilliant. 100%.”
“This is fucking great.”
“Ohh, what does it look like? Tell us more about it.”
*enthusiastic thumbs up, beaming grin*

Such a treat to be involved in a classic SoulMuppet launch party. And this is a LOT of fun (and freebies) for £10 - they are a generous bunch.
