haha, very touching of you to think i could pull off anything remotely like @roseschmits.bsky.social’s stuff 😅
A stoneware mug, glazed with a colourful geometric design
A stoneware mug, glazed in black and white with a tessellated dog pattern
kiln pickup day yesterday. some of the colours came out wayy different to how i expected but i don’t hate it
ahhh yeah i definitely feel you on the glaze running thing. my throwing teacher once told me that the more matte-looking glazes are the least prone to running, and vice versa, but i have no idea how accurate that is as a general heuristic
also, if you want super thin lines, i recommend using pinstriping tape instead of masking tape
feel free to steal it! i don’t own the concept of grids haha ☺️
A pair of bisque fired stoneware mugs, ready for glaze firing.
i have a couple more mugs going into the kiln this week. fingers crossed they turn out okay 😬
A stoneware mug, at the leather-hard stage.
A bisque fired stoneware mug. It has been covered in a grid of thin masking tape.
A stoneware mug, in the process of being decorated. It is glazed in a multicoloured tiled pattern.
A stoneware mug, fully finished. It is glazed in a multicoloured tiled pattern.
the birth cycle of a handmade mug. it's so nice to be back at pottery studio again.
Thanks Ben!! :)
Thank you! 🙏🏾

Nauticrawl!
Picture of the (now discontinued i think?) Tetley tea mascot characters
whenever i make a cup of tea i’m unable to shake the thought that the tetley tea mascots were just british mario and luigi
right! it instantly puts things into perspective
it was so cool and cathartic to relive the beats of development as told through build progress. the first build with non-placeholder art. the first build after we finally got rid of a longstanding bug that we'd all had to get used to for months. the first build with @elirainsberry.com's music in it!
around the launch of my last shipped game, i put on a presentation for the team where i dug up old builds from the last 3 years and played them in chronological order
on a long project you forget all the small (and big!) changes that get made over time and it’s rewarding to see how far you’ve come!
this is great, and a reminder that it’s always valuable as a dev to keep hold of stuff that tells the story of how your game was made
this is great. i love to see development history documented like this 🙏🏾
ahh i did wonder if there was an influence! i love to see an individual person’s fingerprints on a piece of work so this made me v happy. congrats on release btw!
skin deep has such a cool approach to crediting individual level designers. nobody does tongue-in-cheek diegetic stuff quite like @blendogames.bsky.social. truly the best to ever do it.
Thanks for the kind words :)

crossword will be late again this week. i've been pretty stacked lately so i might have to switch from a weekly to a weekly-ish cadence at this rate
I get a lot of use these days out of photopea, as a quick web-based photoshop replacement
thanks so much for the lovely words! i’m so glad you enjoyed the puzzle 😊🙏🏾
good post. as someone who attended and became aware of bad behaviour almost immediately after arriving, i’m surprised to be seeing a statement like this from them, esp 8 months after the fact. late is def better than never though. i do hope they’ve also reached out in some way to the affected folks
