wrt personality, while he's attracted to all sorts, historically he's been into a lot of outsiders & outcasts. he likes that they tend to be interesting as well as accepting, honest, & strong-willed.
he also likes a guy he can tease, needle, and fluster without them getting legitimately mad at him
Solar's tastes, which he has 0 shame for, are more varied, but he is weak to twinks.
he likes androgyny, long legs, long ears, inhuman traits, dark skin & hair, fashionable guys, esp when their personal style is a bit edgy or weird... if you can imagine, he was *immediately* interested in Salix.
he Is embarrassed abt his tastes insofar as he's embarrassed about experiencing attraction at all. plus there are some dysphoric notes of like... if I want to be with a manly man but not to be a manly man, do I still count, and should I have even bothered transitioning?
personality-wise he's attracted to confidence, sweetiepies & silly guys.
his first (non-fictional) crush was on a dwarven member of his mother's druid circle & he's continued down that path since.
Salix likes buff, bitable bears, big noses, long hair, guys who are older than him & are traditionally masculine... being a bit fruity in spite of that is a huge plus tho. like, Solar wearing eyeliner & nail polish & having a mild fagcent is like. cartoon wolf eyes bulging wooden mallet gif. to him.
haha, my boys are both very much eachother's type, it isn't in the least bit surprising that they'd be into eachother.

yahh, that or straight up oranges and reds. which, ykno, can work for people whose colours are super saturated in general, but that's not who I'm talking/thinking about.
and like. bright lighting wouldn't make him look like that anyway, but the lighter skinned character in the piece was made DARKER, so that's totally out the window as an excuse.

like. ugh. I'm fine with colours being a little off & I know lighting changes things, but... here are the midtones I usually use for his & Solar's skin vs midtones from the commissioned piece. it's truly egregious.
...it'd probably be poorly received if I just sent a message being like "hi its me from 1000 years ago, in the future please don't do this.", right?
ahh. the window of time has passed for me to leave a vgen review for the artist who whitewashed the fuck out out of my character... sad

Dug up this RFF Character concept for a quick doodle. The idea is she's a squid/whale fish mutant who's eyeless and relies on her husband (who's mutated to the point of almost being a normal fish) to see and help her maneuver around.

by the way- i'm looking to find more webcomics made by trans people, if that's you consider the replies on this post a free advertising space. i'm personally most into stuff targeted at an older/adult age group (vs. YA or children's media) but i'll try anything out

I *LIKE* hearing comparisons. it's fun to hear what about my characters, artstyle, or whatever else sticks out to people and what they recognize in them.
it's really sad to me that I might miss out on that bc a prospective commenter was told that that's rude somehow.
what's with people who get offended at any instance of their character being compared to another and insisting that *everyone* has that issue?
like... different circles i guess, but in my experience most people are not hurt by this. i'm certainly not.

so, post-horrors Salix's job is more like a fantasy medical technician than like, doctor ass doctor. but i do still think he should be required to interface with and provide care for the public occasionally, because it's funny.
