I would definitely sign up for a tour that paired this type of content with this type of commentary.

These people are gonna be so disturbed when they realize how “Honda” is pronounced in American TV commercials.
Very 7, it’s been a long week.
So are the horns outside of the suit (and sealed somehow at the base) or are those horn covers?
This was a private clinic with a younger male doctor who had some international training, and we both liked him. Probably more progressive than other places, but still a real sense of “this is the system here” and little-to-no effort to ask my partner if she was comfortable and give her options.
In our case, the doctor and I exchanged awkward small talk in the other room while nurses helped my partner get situated with a curtain over her middle, then doctor entered from the feet-end of the room and I a bit later from the head-end. Watched the screen and then they kicked me out.
It’s interesting how different this sounds from our experience out here in Kagawa, though the overlap is clearly in the lack of interest in your preferences. Or notion that you might have any at all?

It’s very weird and entertaining! Monster designs are top-tier. I think the anime adaptation is fantastic too.
It’s so good. Good luck next time!
Wow there really always is a silver lining.
I enjoyed reading your post—thanks for visiting! The Honmura port building is not universally popular here… more than a few locals refer to it as the “takoyaki building.” I think it’s great though.
Did not know this. Thanks!
Current front runner is when I somehow decided kankokujin meant kankokyaku and spent a month talking about how many Koreans I’ve seen lately. (This was during the pandemic when the borders were closed so I was getting a LOT of weird looks.)
Inserting a placeholder here for things in Japanese I am certain of now that will later be revealed (to my great embarrassment) as incorrect in conversations with strangers, enemies, etc. Stay tuned for updates!
Awesome. Nothing more satisfying than making a nice fire.
Legendary Japanese illustrator Kazuo Hozumi has passed away at the age of 94.
Hozumi was the first Japanese menswear illustrator, most famous for his "Ivy Boy" cartoon character. But he had a huge range and was a very stylish guy himself.

I feel that at times, it's hard for us to find each other in community. I made a Starter Pack for Ryūkyūan Academics-Artists.

Nope, super duper weird.
Wonderful, thank you for this.
Yes! Glad to see you looking good.
Don’t let Ken R*ckwell see this
Ohhh fantastic! Many thanks
Yes and I owe you a message too! Hang on a little longer.
Probably not the place for this but call me desperate—do you have a source for Mexican ingredients here?
(We live in the boonies where it’s normal for people to open the door and enter your house. Another bit of culture shock. Welcome to old Japan!)
…when our shop is open and delivers packages there instead. Opens the door quietly and speaks softly because she knows we have a baby. Every immigrant has early experiences with stubborn people who make life miserable. Getting through the noise and finding the good people can take some time.
Shortly after I arrived, the mailman came with a parcel. Said the same thing over and over, more loudly each time, no attempt to rephrase, before leaving angrily with the parcel—I had forgotten there was another word for hanko. Moved across our little island, different mail person makes a note of…
Wow wow wow
