The International Monetary Fund is forecasting Canada will post the second-fastest growth in the G7 — after the United States — this year.
The government is also temporarily suspending the federal Fuel Excise Tax on aviation fuels.
This will reduce operating costs for truckers and businesses in the food, agriculture, housing, construction, and delivery sectors.
The federal government is saving you money at the pump.
Starting next Monday, we’re suspending the federal Fuel Excise Tax on gasoline and diesel across Canada. You’ll save up to 10 cents per litre from April 20 until Labour Day.

We are continuing to work with Alto to ensure a fair process for Canadians by including community engagement and dialogue as we move into the next phase of planning.
Alto, as a part of our government’s #MajorProjects initiative, will boost GDP by $35B annually, create over 51,000 jobs, and unlock enhanced productivity for generations of Canadians. It will also support the economies of smaller towns, boost tourism, and improve connectivity between major cities.
