I’m running out of ways to visually promote Generation Mechs, so here’s me right now working on the *next* book

I’m accepting orders for GM until Sunday night. If you email me before then but end up placing an order on Monday or Tuesday, that’s fine. Details in pinned post

If the excerpts are anything to go by, this is going to be an amazing read about an era of Transformers fandom that I had no idea existed 🤩 Super-excited for my copy to arrive!

Order window closes this Sunday, then that’s that

(Sorry for all the hawking, but — as I may have said in the past — whenever I promote the book I get new enquiries, so people are still learning it exists…)

Haha!

Hm. The only orders I fulfilled at TFN were those where I handed a person a copy… Have you paid via PayPal?

No, but if the payment has been made, then there should be no problem at all. If, when I come to process the orders, I discover that some information is missing. I will email you. Otherwise, assume it’s all fine

A good headline/hook from @tfw2005.bsky.social here. Click through to find an extract from Generation Mechs, the new book that tells you *everything* you need to know about Transformers in the 1990s. Order window closes Sunday

Generation Mechs is *out now* and shipping worldwide. If you’ve contacted me about TF books in the past you should have received an email about how to get Gen Mechs (check your spam if not). Newbies should email mtmte.books@gmail.com for pricing and shipping info

Thanks, Chris, appreciate those suggestions (and your support for the book more generally)

There’s a relatively high concentration of folks on here who bought Gen Mechs at TFN last year, so: if I was to publish an extract to give people a sense of what it’s about, which chapter/section/topic should I choose?

Your penultimate reminder that Generation Mechs — a detailed, wide-ranging, pop-scholarly account of G1’s rise and fall, and the parallel development of “analogue era” fandom — is available to order for just two more weeks. See pinned tweet for details

Gen Mechs, subtitled “Transformers Fan Culture in the 90s”, is available to buy until the end of this month — see my pinned tweet for more details. (Every time I promote it on the ~socials people get in touch, hence messages like these. Signal boosts appreciated)

Cycling back to this having re-read the letter properly and can I just assure you that I did write to Hasbro and ask if the 1991 range was going to include any *Decepticons*. I was not stupid. IIRC I asked if they were bringing out old US-only Cons (since the US range was done)

Really shocked to hear about Rob Grant's passing. It's prompted me to dig out @jroberts332.bsky.social 's excellent interviews with Rob and Doug, which we ran in TV Years magazine in 2019.
