Gunman who fired on tourists at Mexican pyramid carried materials related to 1999 Columbine massacre The gunman who opened fire on tourists at Mexico’s iconic Teotihuacan pyramids carried materials that were apparently related to the deadly 1999 shooting at Columbine High School.

What were his motivations? Especially as he did it from a sacred and ancient cultural site? Is this part of the #IDSov movement or just the North American political conflagration that was begun by the REVITALIZATION and REASSERTION of the Monroe Doctrine? apnews.com/article/shoo...

2/2 In Anglo Colonies, the one drop (non white) rule means you were forever contaminated by the non-white. In Latin Colonies, the one drop (white) rule means that you were forever separated from your roots because you've been "improved" by white blood.

For non-scientists, LTER programs run for decades, so scientists can learn how ecosystems change over time. These programs cover ecology, evolution, systems biology, and it includes animals, plants, even microbes, and more. We learned so much about how our world works with LTERs. This sucks :(

Never used these labels. Nor did I use Chicano. My family, although from Mexico, looked very Indigenous so thereby scorned by all if not most Latinos, including other Mexicans.

But what really steams my tamales is how Natives in Anglo Landia (Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Samoa, Alaska, USA, & Canada) get to be "native" regardless of how Euro or Afro they look. Many Latin Americans have 50-100% Native ancestry and obviously look it....but we have this shit all the time.

It's weird that almost everyone knows that Latin America has the most Indigenous people (whether they identify that way or not). Most don't know how the Casta system and the World Trade Organization combine to skew the actual counts of who identifies as Native. Often, the 'state' decides on its own.

For those who are science minded. Phaseolus vulgaris had two distinct Vavilovian origins (Andes and Mesoamerica) and Phaseolus acutifolia's origin (Tepary) was in Northwest Mexico more or less between 5000-7000 years ago. All can hybridize with the others. link.springer.com/article/10.1...

We did so much, and shared with our relatives to the North and the South. We indirectly shared with the world, including our poor relatives in Africa, India and Southeast Asia when the Spanish stole stuff and used our gifts to enslave the world.

3/3 Putting all that power together with superior numbers is something they've noticed & are attempting like crazy to dismantle. I've said since the 1990's that American Indians and First Nations need to side with us because from the Settler Colonial perspective, there is not one bit of difference.
