Agree. Redesign from the ground up along with Aged Care and Childcare. They should all be not-for-profit and I'd be happy to have them run by government entities. Ditto hospitals and schools.

If you’re not an Army meeting with Ukraine to ask about how they use drones, you are very stupid and probably think AUKUS will save you.
Excellent series of documentaries about the High Court of Australia and how it interacts with and upholds our system of democracy. iview.abc.net.au/show/judgmen...
I’m thinking “First Elder” would be an appropriate name for an Australian head of state.
Such a happy post in my timeline. Thank you!
Yes, you are right, and Bob Brown seems such a gentle character. But I think the media has pushed the idea of "greens" being associated with militant proletarian forces. BLF and green bans?
Yes, exactly.
Except let's not have a President. Or a monarch. Something neutral like First Citizen.
A great piece by Sue Barrett...
"Grace Tame changed laws. She protected children. She gave survivors a voice when the system wanted them silent. The people who undermined her funding did not beat her. They simply made sure she could not afford to keep fighting."

I think it's historic. My recollection of when the Greens first emerged in international media it was as a protest movement and hence revolutionary. That never sits easily with the Australian public.
Modern societies assume suffering can be solved through progress, policy and technology.

Via the Darling Causeway? Unbelievable situation.
Yes, but what about the FIFA Peace Prize? Now that would be impressive.
That's OK! Caused me to think about our situation. Australian Federal ministers generally can't trade stocks, but other politicians can as long as they are disclosed in the public register.
Get rid of the electoral college, introduce compulsory voting for every citizen over 18, and proportional representation. Done!
Well done and thanks for posting!!!
Collingwood Beach, Jervis Bay, Australia. A long white sand beach with acqua blue sea.
Yes, it is beautiful. I was there a few weeks ago. This is my favourite in NSW - Jervis Bay. White sand as far as you can see!

“It’s very simple Brian. We can’t rule in or rule out that there are rules, due to the International Rules Based Order directed to us by our ally the United States. That’s the rules”
David Shoebridge fires up saying Australians are horrified at Labor dragging us into an illegal war on Iran which “started with the US killing of schoolgirls.”
Says sending in Aus troops is “not about safety” but to ‘free up US assets’ so they can “kill ppl in Iran”💥 #auspol

Meet the Solar Powered Sea Slug, Costasiella kuroshimae aka The Leaf Sheep 🔋🌿
It's a super rare animal that utilises photosynthesis via kleptoplasty.
By absorbing chloroplasts from its food, it creates its own energy from light. An amazing creature that blurs the line between animal and plant! 🌱🐌
1/ Trump Administration officials have reportedly held several secret meetings with Canadian separatists, who are seeking US$500 billion to bankroll their efforts. It suggests that the Administration is interested in breaking up Canada and absorbing the remnants. ⬇️

I don’t understand why @albomp.bsky.social is hesitating to reform. He’s got no opposition. Seize the day! It may never come again.
Fair enough. Balance the pleasure of a few against the safety of many.
A Royal Commission? That just needs more beach houses for barristers.
