one would hope that the owner of this outlet might take this opportunity to interrogate why this supposed vg history luminary was able to so easily take refuge on their site, and only their site, after being excluded from polite company decades ago, but I suspect the answer will forever elude them

Update 44: *** adopts scorched earth policy I was not intending to mention them ever again, but after recent calculated attacks and a hate campaign against me, I am forced to make this public. I will not listen to anyone who raises accusations of me being unprofessional. These are dangerous people, and I must make their attempts to destroy my life public. I told them: no one will walk away from this wasteland unaffected. Their behaviour is grossly unprofessional as they drag the entire Japanese games industry into a cesspool for their petty vendetta. ***, her sister ***, and husband ***, have enacted a calculated attack to end my career, destroy my life, and put a stop to this project. *** contacted every interviewee I met in Japan, in order to slander my name and have them retract their interviews. I interviewed 82 people. I can only assume she attempted to contact all of them. *** was given an appointments sheet I wrote to further her coordinating work, which contained everyone's contact details. She contacted everyone, whether she coordinated an interpreter or not. Which is an abuse of privileged private information. *** left mid-October yet made a calculated attempt to contact people who I interviewed after this. *** is seeking a European lawyer to prevent the book being published. *** is trying to prevent all of you who backed this project, from the £25 tier right up to the £120, £500 and £5000 tiers, from receiving your products or knowing the truth.
i fucked up and kickstarted his book, which turned into monthly updates of the most insane shit you'd ever see. book turned out exactly how you'd expect

I just recently learned that the Sega CD ADV "Urusei Yatsura: Dear My Friend" received a fan-made port to PC via Adventure Game Studio a few years ago which includes a near-complete English translation! archive.org/details/urus...
Hats off to the least-loved piece of the original Phantasy Star series. It had loads of potential, and it's still neat in a lot of ways!

this is my favourite video game commercial, and that's partly because the director said he was trying to channel eroticism in it
i'm glad he found a friend

I've never really thought too much about the Heracles no Eikou series; they're competent-if-not-bog-standard Dragon Quest clones in a Greek mythology wrapper. Kamigami kara no Okurimono ("Gift of the Gods"), however, is something special. Betrayed by their teacher and stuffed into Pandora's Box, our two protagonists are cursed to eternally wander the earth in search of answers. What sets this apart from its predecessors (and its distant DS sequel) is its unique class system: our heroes can possess the bodies of beings with whom they're compatible: you start the game as a stray dog, and it's not long you're able to take over the bodies of shepherds, sheep, vagabonds, warriors, and even the Queen of Egypt. There's around 100 bodies to find, many of whom have their own unique abilities, as well as (very small) side events if you bring certain bodies to meet other characters. Eventually your heroes will link up with Heracles, who's on a quest to stuff all of the world's rampant elemental evil back into Pandora's Box. The story doesn't go exactly where you'd expect, and I found myself impressed by the story's commitment to Greek tragedy. Data East did their homework and delivered a ponderous JRPG which could proudly stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the 16-bit Dragon Quest entries, had anybody ever heard of it. Definitley work a look, and there's even a post-game quest for those still hungry after the credits roll.
9. Heracles no Eikou IV: Kamigami kara no Okurimono
In a series of unadventerous DQ clones, this is surprisingly good

Some good stuff coming throughout 92 but a bit of a big ask at launch! Still, somehow more attractive than the new 3ds?
it is amazing and a total mess, which kinda makes it more amazing in retrospect
♡
Perhaps more attractive than shelling out 60,000 for a duo if you already own a cd-rom²
we got it, i'm officially a dingus bsky.app/profile/did:...

Japanese advertisement for the then-forthcoming Super System Card, required to play Tengai Makyou 2 Manjimaru (From PC Engine Fan September 1991)
Attention PC Engine Sickos, I'm trying to find out the launch retail price of the Super System Card (October 1991). Anybody able to help me out? I will credit you!
Linda³ concept art by Cannabis. Linda, a blue haired lady in a pink bodycon dress, poses and salutes the camera with her two fingers in a V. Three space rangers and a scientist stand behind her; her boyfriend Ken, also a space ranger, is splayed out on the floor, likely after being bludgeoned by Linda
