I saw that it’s not absolutely necessary to start with that book, and since I haven’t really felt drawn to it yet, I’ve decided to begin with this one. They lay out the worldbuilding really succinctly tho right from the start so I don’t think it matters.

Just started The Ascended, only halfway through first chapter but already feeling hooked.. we shall see!
