What a brilliant week in Greece with Yr12 and Yr13! All dismissed from Heathrow. Over and out! #smsgreece
The sun came out again for our final day! We had an impromptu TFTD at Epidaurus and then explored Mycenae. Lunch overlooked the Corinth Canal. All checked in at the airport and looking like we will land at Heathrow at 9:45pm. Day 5 ✅ #smsgreece
The rain couldn’t dampen our mood or enthusiasm today 🌧️ We started at the Olympia museum and site - of course there was time for a race! Then free time in Olympia before our drive to Tolo. Day 4 ✅ #smsgreece
Third day of sunshine in Greece 🇬🇷 The morning was spent exploring the Delphi sites and museum and then we travelled to Olympia. We had time to explore Olympia and get some souvenirs before dinner. Day 3 ✅ #smsgreece
Another gorgeous day in Greece! 🇬🇷 We started at the Acropolis before moving onto the Agora. Next stop was National Archaeological Museum before our drive to Delphi. We are all checked in and heading out for dinner. Day 2 ✅ #smsgreece
We have been so impressed with students today! It’s been a long and busy one! The weather couldn’t have been better for the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion and we had a great time exploring the Acropolis Museum before dinner at the hotel. Day 1 ✅ #smsgreece
We have safely arrived in Athens! Students were amazing at Heathrow and on the flight! Ready to pick up our bags and start our adventure. #Greece2026
MaryleMinutes Reading Challenge 2026 Results!
We will get even more minutes as the challenge runs right up to the end of term, but it’s incredible to see that in the National Year of Reading, at St Marylebone we have smashed our million minutes target!
Congratulations to all contributing readers!
KS5 Book Group: The Marriage Portrait
Opinion was divided!
Some of us liked the simplicity of narration and linguistic beauty. Others found it cliched and superficial. A rich discussion! Particular controversy over the ending.
Next book: Cleaner by Jess Shannon
All KS5 students welcome

This weekend, Sonny Y11 won Gold at the SIAB International, crossing the finish line in spectacular fashion at 12:49.
The 4k course was a true test of cross-country running: long, energy-sapping hills and sharp, technical turns that required constant focus.
Congratulations Sonny!

SMS Reading Week
Year 7 and Year 9 helped out publishers Pan Macmillan in focus groups to explore how to get more young people involved in reading. It was fantastic to have a marketing team in school to explore new books. Thank you to the students who took part. #readingweek
As part of our Reading Week celebrations, Year 8 enjoyed a visit from Bonnie MacBird who writes Sherlock Holmes adventures.
We were also inspired by a composer who wrote a piece imagining what Holmes would play to himself whilst thinking about a case, performed by a fantastic violinist.

A final #TFTD, written by students on the way to the airport this morning. Once again the generous BA staff were gracious in allowing us to do this. Students did not disappoint. #SMSSki26. BA staff were so efficient & compassionate when helping one of our students who felt unwell during the flight.
We have landed at Heathrow T5! #SMSSki26 (@12:43) parents please be ready for pick up in about 40 mins.
