SkyArt will not allow NSFW content on the platform. As the sole person currently managing and developing SkyArt, I'm keeping the focus on general and all-ages content until the platform grows.

When you log in with your Bluesky account for the first time, you will be taken through this onboarding process where you can add a bio, pick a cover photo, and connect your social media (Of course, you can update these later)

Yes! You’ll be able to cross-post from SkyArt to Bluesky but however any interactions happening on Bluesky won’t carry over to SkyArt.

4/ But for launch, we’re keeping it intentional and making sure SkyArt’s first showcase feels like a true gallery, not just another social feed. SkyArt is coming!

3/ Instead, SkyArt’s early feed will be made up of works you deliberately add. Art you’re proud to have represent you and the platform.

This means:
✅ Artists control exactly what’s shown
✅ The first impression of SkyArt is curated and inspiring
✅ The tone is set by creators, not algorithms

2/ Why?
Because our launch is about showcasing the very best of the community. Auto-imports (even filtered by hashtags) risk cluttering the feed with posts that weren’t meant for this space.

🧵 We’re building SkyArt on top of ATProto, not as just another Bluesky client, but as a decentralized, artist-first platform built for the future. So we made a choice: we won’t auto-fetch your Bluesky posts even though we technically could.

This takes me back… We’re actually working on something in that spirit. No AI clutter, just real artists connecting. Hoping to have something to show soon!

This is actually one of the reasons we’re building SkyArt, an upcoming art-first platform built on ATProto. The goal is to have a space with zero AI clutter and real engagement between artists and audiences. Still in the works, but I’m excited for when we can open the doors.

Wish I had a whole team beside me but yeah, it’s just me at the moment so this is the best I can come up with for the time being. But I will definitely look into more alternatives in the future.

AI art? Not on our watch ⛔

We hear you, loud and clear. #SkyArt now scans every upload in real time to block AI-generated art. Detection isn’t perfect (yet) and it’s costly to run, but I’ll try to fund it during beta because real artists deserve a space that respects their work.
