"Zack Polanski, leader of the Green party, said: “There’s nothing real about the Reform party. Their supposed policies to tackle cost of living are fake, they spin stories that are fake and now we know even their campaigners are fake.”

OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.
Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

Keir Starmer actually put this in a briefing to Labour MPs of 'useful questions to ask' today. The PM knew of Mandelson's relationship Epstein when he appointed him.
And yet thinks he can still exploit the grief of the victims. This is why he is not fit to be Prime Minister.
Letter on UK Parliament headed paper dated 16 April 2026, addressed to Energy Secretary Ed Miliband. Green MPs urge him to maintain the ban on new North Sea oil and gas licences and not approve projects like Rosebank, Jackdaw or Cambo. The letter argues new fossil fuel extraction will not lower bills or improve energy security, and says claims about protecting jobs are inaccurate. It highlights that 93% of recoverable oil and gas has already been extracted and that remaining resources would be sold internationally. The MPs warn expanding fossil fuels harms workers, billpayers and future generations, and call instead for investment in renewable energy, warmer homes, future-proof jobs, and making polluters pay. Signed by Carla Denyer, Ellie Chowns, Siân Berry, Hannah Spencer and Adrian Ramsay.
Our MPs have written to Ed Miliband urging him not to backtrack on the ban on new oil and gas.
More drilling won’t lower bills or secure our energy future. It’s time to invest in renewables, future-proof jobs, and make polluters pay.
By me: what to expect at the first coference on the transition away from fossil fuels in Santa Marta @drilledmedia.bsky.social

Her office said the Office for Students (OfS), which regulates universities, had received reports of speakers and lecturers being harassed and blocked for holding gender-critical or religious views, of foreign interference suppressing academic freedoms, and of ideological belief requirements featuring in job advertisements.
The OfS will be able to use the new complaints scheme from September. From April, it will be able to fine universities the greater of £500,000 or 2 per cent of their income, which would amount to millions of pounds for large institutions, for breaches under the Freedom of Speech Act. Ultimately, universities could be deregistered for egregious cases.
Bridget Phillipson will introduce new laws to make it possible for Universities to be fined millions of pounds if they don't silence students who protest bigots invited onto their campuses. It's like the Tories never left office.

Labour deletes post after 'fake AI character' claims
“Greens who were long dismissed as “idealistic” & “unrealistic” now look like hard-headed pragmatists & true patriots. They’re years ahead of their rivals in demanding a transition that makes sense on every level: environmental, economic & political” - great article from @georgemonbiot.bsky.social 👇
The Palentir statement on its desired “Technological Republic” is one of the scariest things I have seen in a while. It is a call for a world dominated by an authoritarian U.S., generated by AI (both the statement and the world), run by tech-surveillance companies. Technofascism pure!
Johan Rockström: “We will do anything we can to be
a force of truth in this process”
Listen to this very interesting interview with Johan ahead of the world's first Transition Away From Fossil Fuels conference in Colombia.

The Israeli army struck civilians in the Lebanese city of Mayfadoun.
And then, the Israelis double-tapped the medics who arrived onto the scene.
And then, they triple-tapped the next wave of medics.
And then, they did it one more time for good measure.
We need to win big on May 7.
Thousands of Green candidates are standing across England and Wales.
This is a real chance to change politics - to give communities a stronger voice and challenge parties backed by big money.

Hitting the old, sick, disabled, public services doesn't produce a resilient society. How many will die?
Govt created £895bn QE to rescue banks, why not the same to rebuild society?
2010-2025: HMRC didn't collect £500bn tax.
Graphic of Ciara alleyne, 22, chair of the young green. She speaks about her journey into politics including the quote that as one of the only people of colour raised in her school that naturally politicises you.
I am so proud of Ciara - our Co-Chair of @younggreens.bsky.social and the next Cllr for Herne Hill and Loughborough Jnc.
Today, she is rightly named The Times 'Young Power List'. She epitomises HOPE.
As someone who has spent nearly three decades working on IT programmes across the public sector, the unglamorous work of getting basic data captured and flowing consistently is usually deprioritised to pay for the IT flavour of the month (currently that is of course LLM AI).
This week I’ve been challenging the Govt’s sinister attempts to abolish the right to choose a jury trial.
Here is the Minister confirming that the right to elect a jury trial IS being completely abolished with this Bill!
A fundamental cornerstone of our justice system established in 1670: gone.
A picture of Starmer and Mandelson with Starmer Must Go in the background with green party logo and imprint
Peter Mandelson failed his Government security vetting.
Starmer appointed him as ambassador to the US anyway.
No more buck passing, no more mysteriously vanishing mobile phones, we need the truth.
Starmer must go.
Conservative shadow home secretary Chris Philp said the asylum system "must be totally overhauled" so only those facing real personal persecution are granted asylum. Liberal Democrat immigration and asylum spokesman Will Forster said the BBC's findings were "abhorrent", adding: "We need an asylum system that is fair, controlled and efficient. Not the shambles the Conservatives left us with." Reform UK said that if the party wins power it would make facilitating a false asylum claim a "strict liability" criminal offence, meaning there would be no requirement to prove intent in prosecutions, which would be punishable by up to two years in jail. (Highlighted bit) However, the Green Party said the BBC's reporting "gives an entirely false impression of a system which is, in reality, stacked against people seeking asylum" and heightened "the hostile environment" facing this group.
Rarely prouder to be a Green
Keir Starmer has lied and lied again over his decision to appoint Peter Mandelson. He must resign.
Outrageous if true that senior government officials are considering whether to withhold documents from Parliament that show Mandelson wasn't given security clearance.
The public needs the truth.
"Rahmstorf, who has studied the Amoc for 35 years, has said a collapse must be avoided 'at all costs'. 'I argued this when we thought the chance of an Amoc shutdown was maybe 5%, and even then we were saying that risk is too high, given the massive impacts. Now it looks like it’s more than 50%.'"
All across the UK, Greens are working to bring hope back to politics.
With just 3 weeks until the election, the leader of the Green Party of Northern Ireland Mal O’Hara joined us to campaign on our shared vision for a fairer, greener future. 💚
London needs this.
London’s Mayor needs to be given the power to do this.
Next time someone says there’s no money for truly renewable energy - quote them this.
More AMOC bad news: Scientists have found an estimated slowdown of 42% to 58% in 2100, a level almost certain to end in catastrophic collapse.
And “the reality is probably still worse”, says expert Stefan Rahmstorf, because the computer models do not include meltwater from the Greenland ice cap.

🚄no privatisation loopholes e.g. let's own the trains
PASSENGERS NOT PROFITS
We are imperfect, but having been an active campaigner for the Greens since 2014, the issues I see are primarily because we’ve had to operate almost entirely using volunteers and minimal infrastructure.
When Labour next tell you there is no money left and that's why they can't help people to heat their homes, show them this.
