From what has been disclosed so far, it looks like Starmer may have cooked his goose.

And we fall into the interminable change of PM routine started by the tories.

It was nice to have a stable (if misguided) government for a short while

You’re too ‘British’. Me too…

My OH drives me to despair pushing things to the absolute limit.

I can safely bet that for her club tonight (start time 8pm) that she will leave the house at…. 8:05pm, despite any ‘you will be late’ warnings from me.

Sweep stake anyone? I take 8:05 🤡

Test drive of an EV today.

Hybrid was on our radar until the Iran thing blew up.

Our usage doesn’t really justify hybrid (weekends away, mountains, very few short trips, no commute).

100% electric. Major change from diesel.

Brain is dragging me that way. Body is still sat on the maybe fence

But you daren’t tell him that he’s late because that’s the surest way of getting him grumpy, poor workmanship and left unfinished…

Ah… les français… frustrant et adorable

Thank you

I still see value in disrupting logistics, but concede that it needs to be part of a bigger plan.

One thing has mystified me in this conflict:

Why hasn’t the Kerch bridge been disabled?

To my non-expert non-military mind this is a major re-supply route, yet a vulnerable target. I expect it is well defended, but that well?

At the start of the war, Ukraine didn’t have the weapons - but now?

Judge needs to demand a breathalyser before any testimony is given

Discovery is going to be revealing

Every American… every human should be calling for his removal from office.

Interesting opinions here reading the thread.

Quickest way - follow the Blondi example…

Subpoena him to testify - he will get sacked, then won’t turn up.

Standard American answer: Wait until the mid-terms.

Everything will go normally with that election, Shirley!

EU comes with strict recycling rules...
Theoretically the waste should be minimised. In practice… less than we want is recycled. Standardisation may help here too.

What we also need is more funded research into producing more durable batteries (or perhaps alternative power sources)

Read? Take advice from experts?

I don’t think that you are onto a winner there. 😢

I disagree that they are getting worse - we are using devices that have higher battery demands - and batteries suffer from aging.

We have a way to go with battery research to find the holy grail.

Easily changing the battery should help keeping the phone near peak form.

True… but the big problem is generally the apps and OS. Photos/videos are often pushed straight to the cloud.

Batteries - I only partially agree. Standardised form factors, output voltages, connections, safety… yes.
But don’t standardise the technology. We need batteries to evolve to pack in more capacity, the technologies still have a long way to go. Don’t stifle that.

Hope they will extend that to memory cards. Part of the obsolesence we face is running short on memory.

Or perhaps we can get developers back to writing lean code… the moon landings used to have code with a minuscule footprint compared to today’s bloatware.

Donald Trump wanted a commemorative stamp with his face on it but the focus group said 65% of Americans would spit on the front side and the other 35% would lick the backside.

80 is still a scary thought… it will most likely end up with a hung parliament.

Although if the party follow its leader’s attendance record, maybe something can be salvaged.
