80 years ago, 51 countries signed the UN Charter, creating the United Nations to promote peace and global collaboration. Born from the ashes of World War II and the horrors of fascism, the UN was humanity's answer to "never again."
70 years ago today, The Freedom Charter was adopted as a manifesto by the liberation movement in South Africa. Volunteers collected "freedom demands" from South Africans in the year before, and collated it. Check out this small selection of historical posters.
