I mean almost impossible I would say! In order to be optimized for a strong narrative voice it feels almost directly opposed to letting someone have a lot of freedom in building and influencing their own story. I guess in irl d&d it’s a little easier because you can respond to it way more directly
yeah I have trouble with anything I would describe as like a “frustration mechanic”. but I think it’s also, and this might be a lack of imagination on my part, that a lot of stuff (like the thorms) once properly in to act 2 seems to have limited major differences / diminishing returns on a replay
yeah nail on the head, I think in my head I end up more focused on the characters than the overall narrative in this particular case so they’re like my little guys I’ve made to go on different adventures with & want to keep doing it. If there was more dlc I would play it forever
I find this interesting as someone who is generally a much bigger fan of compelling narrative than open world stuff - I actually love how open 3rd act is because the individual threads don’t feel undercooked to me so I’m looking forward to divinity where they implied it will branch more

I saw a review saying someone loved bg3 until act 3 when it got really unfocused but act 3 is my favourite bit! If anything the whole shadow cursed lands bit in the middle is what I want to skip on future playthroughs as it feels a bit fiddly & boring. Do others have thoughts on this
