Counts 1 and 2 are class C felonies. Each carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $125,000 fine.

Counts 5 and 6 are for failing to report as a mandatory reporter. According to the Oregon Justice Department, only 3 other people have been charged with this crime in Oregon since 2017.

The superintendent and principal, who are both on leave last week, are each being investigated for neglect to report safety concerns to the state.
