Nailed it 😅

In a way it’s less problematic than single purchase app. If a user is not satisfied with your app because he wants all updates to be (say) ios16 compatible, well, he just unsubscribes. The one caveat is data lock-in; I make sure users can export their data wherever they want to unsubscribe.

Think about bureaucracy, in Italy at least. It’s a machine that no one understands fully, and that it has a deep impact on our life. That is what I am sure that if some advanced AI ever comes we will lose control of it 😅

Super interesting. I mostly agree, although I think somehow in many fields we’ve already given up, and already are in the “0 experts” situation. It’s like we’ve already created more complexity than we can manage. And I am not talking just about mechanical machines, or electronics.

You ‘re one of the best things that could happen to Apple! Good luck!

IN FACT I have used a wood chipper! We had a felled tree in the yard and it was an efficient way to get rid of a lot of the branches. We turned the main trunk into firewood for our fire pit in the backyard.

I am trying to add some quirkiness to an iOS 26 app, with some custom icons, but boy it’s so hard with the Liquid Glass tab and toolbar. Quite tempted to give up and settle with SF Symbol. Are we bound to use the same icon set for every single app? Forever and ever? 😭 #buildinpublic

Yesterday App Review caught a bad bug, paywall had stopped showing products. For some reason my legacy @revenuecat.com StoreKit1 implementation stopped working… The support was nice as usuals, but I took the occasion and migrated to the RC paywalls, a nice and frictionless experience!

So if Swift 6.2 has APPROACHABLE concurrency, that means Swift 6.0 concurrency was… unapproachable? Repulsive? Offputting? I am not saying that, they are 😉

And that is exactly what happened with JS frameworks 😀

Another key disadvantage over Core Data much less control over CloudKit sharing, if you need it; incidentally this also means you need to write much less code 😀

I am writing a new SwiftData-based app, and so far I had no problems whatsoever. One caveat, when you update the models you need to implement migrations, while in Core Data simple changes do not require them.

Really great Chris!

Same on the M4. I think it’s really a UI/UX problem, you can’t tell the difference between a compiler suggestion and an an AI suggestion, and AI suggestions are mostly wrong ☹️

I got #nuphy Kick 75. Second #mechanicalkeyboard, a year and a half apart from the first one, is it an addiction yet?

This looks exactly like a scare screen, which if I am not mistaken was prohibited by last month injunction. At this stage they are really shouting out loud “we never learn anything”. The judge will be happy.

Very nice improvement! Which of your apps is that? Also, looking at the graph I see a dive to zero right before the increase. Was it just one of those days or did you try something else that did not work? Quite curious, I am at a similar spot…

I just released Menu Plan 2.94, nothing new for existing users, but a revamped onboarding with a wizard to set up your first meal plan real fast. Will this make a difference in coversions? We’ll see! #buildinpublic
