This isn't hypothetical.

The coming days are bringing higher prices and disrupted supply chains, this time not because of a pandemic or a war, but self-inflicted by our country's government under this president.

the thing about the tates and trump and musk is that what they offer is the illusion of control and dominance and mastery. in truth, they are absolute slaves to their passions and their worst instincts, and they have paid for it in that they are literal degenerates

THiiiiis. Good gods. Think of a highway, if you spend 75m of 100m to build 75% of a highway from A-B, and then stop... You've basically just burned that 75m, not saved 25m

Ignoring the horribleness of "here we gave you this money, now we're ungiving it to you, starve."

It can never be forgotten that one of the first social media campaigns Russia ran in the US was promoting anti-vax sentiment. Why? For it would cause Americans to die and rip apart our social fabric.

I saw some guy online comment today that "we need a male AOC" and I had to shut my laptop and go for a nice, long walk in order to avoid screaming.

How the world’s largest language family spread — and why others go extinct Three books that take on the history of languages have something for everyone.

The origin of the Indo-European language family has been debated for centuries, with arguments ranging "from ingenious... to outright weird,” says archaeologist James Mallory, with one even proposing a source “outside our galaxy”.

Today, the Trump administration is releasing a fake "report" about gender affirming care created by quacks so they can restrict access to care. It's going to be completely unscientific and unhinged and shouldn't be a afforded one iota of credibility.

Something lovely to start the week! 🐙🏺❤️

I revisited Heraklion Archaeological Museum a few days ago to see these fabulous clay pots with octopus decoration. Made by artisans from Bronze Age Crete about 3,500 years ago!

I hate the underlying thought that Democrats are the only party with agency in US politics and anything that goes wrong must be their fault somehow
