Background of mountains, a setting sun and clouds. And the winner is ... The Greenhorn by Grace Schwenk. Grace Schwenk is a writer from Missoula, Montana. Most of her writing is done from a fire lookout in the Payette National Forest of Idaho. When not writing or looking for smokes, she can be found getting lost in the mountains with her fluffy white dog, Selway. The Greenhorn is her account of the four months she spent at the Granite Mountain Lookout in South Central Idahoβs Grass Mountains. There she navigates both the internal and external landscapes, all while forming connections with fellow lookout attendants, her friends, family, nature, a resident mountain goat, the mountain, and ultimately herself.
