I find it funny when they mention reskilling to other work.
Reskilling to what? By the time you've gained the skills for another industry, AI most likely ravaged that too.

Something about this very specific space travel problem makes me chuckle

oh yeah, it's all coming together
I thought it would be, but disappointingly it’s a fake straw
Me drinks farting
Eyup luv ye doin alreet?
One major frustration about buying electrical bits for campervan builds is that they always have bright blue LEDs.
Simple switch? USB charging port? 12v socket? They all gotta glow brighter than the sun. Super annoying during night time.
"this horse is getting so fast, it's going to become a train any day now"
My variant for Supergirl 15
felt good to be doing a cover for a @mooncalfe1.bsky.social book again after all these years
Ever since copilot entered the scene my explorer windows get random freezes, and basic programming was already largely automatable with existing tools and resources.
We’re using far more resources to make worse versions of things we already had
It’s a tool specifically designed to funnel more wealth upwards. Intended to devalue labour and get people and businesses reliant on them.
How do you not see this? The consumer market is pushing back against the tech, but it’s still being forced into everything
If you’re using any modern device odds are you’re using llms in some way, that doesn’t mean it’s being used willingly or knowingly.
The majority doesn’t choose to use generative AI, it’s simply forced upon them through sneaky updates and pointless features.
Aw heck this train is the worst case of sensory overload I’ve dealt with in a long time.
Squeaky tables, rattling items, loud children, crying babies and football fans all together in my little tin can.
It’s a miracle I packed my noise cancelling headphones do this trip
Pretty sure this is because newer games are increasingly chugging at native resolution due to neglected optimisation passes and usage of DLSS as a crutch to enable faster development time and profits.
I couldn’t play Borderlands 4 native on a 3080
I don’t usually gravitate towards fish dishes, but this tuna steak was intriguing and super good. Didn’t even know you could get fish in steak form
Aah trying to book a table for 1 at a restaurant is so weird and judgy
I wanna eat too, I wanna have the good local food and not go to McDonald’s. Don’t be confused just cos I’m travelling solo right now
Gotcha! I knew there was something I’d read when buying the pass.
Ah I can see that being a great time. In the UK we only really get stuff like that within big cities so it was such a surprise how far I could go with the pass here.
I believe Eurail is for a wider travel network across Europe, but Interail is for the Benelux area specifically. There may be other differences but I used the interail pass for this race
"The Bounce Series is a fast-paced adventure across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and the first in a growing series of regional challenges across Europe. This format is all about freedom, creativity and fast decision-making."
on the calendar for next year 🤩
The people who run this event also do similar stuff around the world, often around Europe. This was my first go at something like it, but I’d definitely do it again. It’s a great way to see places you may not otherwise visit yourself. I’ve got a few new places to visit in future trips from this.
Great fun, very exhausting
Yeah most of my time there was around the midi station towards the meininger hotel. Maybe it’s just that particular stretch of the city but it really looked neglected.
It was absolutely wonderful around the actual center with all the little shops and food places though
Brussels is a very sad place outside a couple tourism spots, almost dilapidated and it confused me
Don’t wear denim coats with collars while backpacking for days, my neck is so chafed on both sides
Similarly, softer shirts are a must. My nipples also unexpectedly chafed
Some key takeaways:
Netherlands public transport is leagues ahead of nearly anywhere else. The only thing I’ve seen on par is within Berlin.
Luxembourg public transport is free, but I tried to pay multiple times in a sleep deprived delirium
Amsterdam is so much more than the stereotypes
There were something like 40-ish participants total. No specific route, just point collection and a return to the finish line before a deadline which meant everyone had different plans, often crossed paths with other competitors or sometimes got stuck in broken down vehicles.
It’s a very cool time
I spent Saturday to Monday participating in a race to reach a bunch of locations around Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg using only public transport.
I came in 11th (or joint 6th by points), had like 3 hours sleep and it was a great time.
Now I’m in Amsterdam a couple days to rest and explore
