In general I don’t get the interpretation of hongjoong as shy when he’s really just humble and introverted lol, but whatever, it’s all rpf at the end of the day

B/c he’s genuinely never looking to push hj too far, and besides, the bugging him and getting smacked is their thing, who would they be without it. You can also see mingi asking for physical affection sometimes rather than going straight for it and that wounds me (positive)

& walk away when he’s done. Mingi does have moments of selfishness where he initiates against hongjoong’s will but they’re intermittent and with care to not go too far. Sometimes he’ll do it and hongjoong will smack him and he’ll keep trying and get smacked again but he backs off pretty easily

These are obviously just my own feelings based on being kinda similar in that regard and kinda observing him meticulously. I think his rs w/mingi is great to look at for this because mingi famously allows anyone to do anything to him so he’s a great outlet for hongjoong to go and mess with

Imo he does seek/crave physical affection to an extent but 1) because he’s set a precedent of not liking it, it’s hard to admit that or initiate affection and 2) he might be less able to set limits/control the situation if he told people to just go ahead (give an inch, they take a mile basically)

Like man when you have limits on who you want touching you/how/for how long/where, people just do not believe you and will do it anyway because they really don’t understand that (would you believe there are other way to show you care for someone)

I think unless people personally don’t really like physical affection, they can’t conceive how that feels. Like no, he’s not overwhelmed, and he’s not lying, he genuinely doesn’t like it as much as other people. He just has limits and boundaries
