Happy #FossilFriday! Pictured is a jaw fragment from a mosasaur, a large marine reptile. It was found in 85-million-year-old Cretaceous limestone along the Missouri River bluffs, which formed at the bottom of a shallow inland sea during that time.🏞️

CT scanning for fabrication is trivial given they Moroccans find a new Xenodens about every 6 months. Although, there may be some insight to be gained as to exactly why 1.5-2 crowns will develop in 1 alveolus. Very weird teeth.

Sharpe and friends invalidated it purely out of hatred for Longrich. There’s no glue on the holotype. Moroccan forgeries are not so precise.

Majungasaurus is quite unique in being relatively "small" as the apex predator in its habitat. How many Majungasaurus does it take to kill a Rapetosaurus that's not already dying or a juvenile? I don't know. Maybe impossible.

First up : Portunatasaurus chasing fish in a wave during the late Cretaceous in what is now Croatia.
It's a potential early relative to the much bigger mosasaurs!

Also, no glue under the teeth. You've seen the quality the chop shops produce. Have they ever sculpted a resorption pit?

From what I gather, Nick didn't respond to them and they inferred the rest.

As stated already, the "super croc" did not live with Spinosaurus (or Carcharodontosaurus), and this giant crocodylomorph was extinct and fossilized by that time. However, it did live alongside Suchomimus and Eocarcharia, as well as Ouranosaurus.
