There are so many different image variations of the Horsehead Nebula out there that it was tough to think of something unique. And while this isn’t the only HSSRGB image of IC 434 out there, it seems not to be shot too often.

This was by far the toughest image I’ve had to process to date.

Hey folks. I've tried a few times this year to reignite my passion for photography, but I think I just got burned out. However, this fall, I decided to get back into deep-space #astrophotography, and wanted to start sharing some of those photos here. Here's 6 hours on the Embryo Nebula (NGC 1333).

It's been a minute. Here's a photo of some cool weather we had this evening. I was out on a mission to shoot some video, so this was taken with a 35mm Cine lens on an APS-C body (A6700).

‪Ok. Still on a drone photography kick with the Air 3S. Here's a shot from a scouting mission this morning. I'm going to have to go back for a higher-res pano when the sky is better.

Took the drone up to St. Vrain Canyon today for a little pre-sunset session. The goal was to experiment with stitching the 12MP RAW files from the Air 3S's 70mm lens. This is made up of 12 images using the neato "Free Pano" mode.

The famous Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado at dusk. There is so much cool history associated with this place, including being the setting for Stephen King's book "The Shining". Apparently it was just sold for a cool $400 million.

Downtown Boston from a recent trip. This was my first time there. What a great city!

The top of a mountain near Loveland Pass, Colorado. Weather moving in from the other side of the divide created some interesting lighting conditions.

I don't normally take landscape photos at f/2.8, but I wanted to test out a new lens and really liked the result. We had some interesting weather yesterday which made for some good evening light.

From the Spring snow we had last week. Here's hoping we'll get some more before the summer heat sets in. Our snowpack total for the winter was really low this winter.

It was nice and foggy this morning at Walden Ponds in Boulder. This is an 8 second exposure. I have no idea how the goose on the island stood still for that long... 🐦

Hey folks! It's been a while. I took a bit of a hiatus from the camera and social media, but I'm back in action. Had a great hike this morning in Boulder with such a beautiful morning. The clouds were weaving in between the Flatirons, which was a mood.

A view from a canyon overlook shows a precarious, lichen covered precipice with a waterfall in the background snaking down the opposite canyon wall.

More fun with the IR filter on a hike this morning. This is totally out of the norm for me, but I thought it turned out pretty neat. Eldorado State Park, Colorado

Oof missed that part in your OP! Web components are pretty slick. I'll give it a closer look. Thanks for the heads up!

Nice. I'm planning on doing the same (whenever I actually get around to finishing my site). Did you use a library or roll your own solution?

I'm really enjoying your posts from this project, Klaus. This one is fantastic. Love the colors, and the little highlight with the mountains peeking through in the background.

This is really nice, Martin. I really like how you framed up these interesting trees.

This is really great, Jabi! I'm curious which part of the Rockies this is from?

Thanks, Sherri! I had a lot of fun experimenting there.

This afternoon I tried a 720nm IR filter on my stock X-T5, and the results are way better than I expected! The waterfall shots are both 8 minute exposures. The mountain scene was 2 minutes.

Beautiful shot, Armand. Love everything about this!

Awesome. I haven't heard many people complain about their rooftop setups. We'd love to get one of those sweet decked out cargo vans, but that'll have to wait until we win the lottery.

I pay about $20/mo for 3TB using Synology C2. Still trying to tweak my workflow a bit, but it's super easy.

Glad you had backups! My favorite purchase of the year was a Synology NAS. Everything is backed up to redundant local drives and synced to the cloud nightly. Peace of mind without having to think about anything. The 3-2-1 rule is so important for crucial data!

How do you like your rooftop tent? I've decided to get one, but have only started looking into it!

Thanks! I love these conditions. They're so much fun to work with.

There is a really good block list for a lot of these content scrapers here (including that account): bsky.app/profile/did:...

Make sure you block and don't just mute!

Maybe it's because I'm pretty new here, but one of the things I love about BlueSky is that I seem to stumble upon amazing artists I haven't seen, like Mark, every day. Here's to hoping that trend continues!
