We reviewed the Makers Manifesto made by Erin Wilson Clarke.
We introduced the upcoming exhibition Up Our Road, and had a look at photos in the Museum's collection of Oswald and Frodingham Road, We listened to small excerpts of the oral histories of three of the project participants.

This is a copper alloy strap end made from sheet metal. It has a strengthening bar and two rivets to attach it securely to a belt.
Strap ends of this form are uncommon in our region. This one may be an up-market type made in an urban centre.

Today the Museum Makers went on a trip to International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln. We explored two brilliant exhibition spaces, handled artefacts from the Centre's collection and had a guided tour of the memorial.

This object is made of copper alloy and is identified as a tuning peg for a post-medieval stringed musical instrument.

The tapered pin at the base of the peg fitted a hole drilled in the body, head or neck of the instrument.

This is a large fragment of a bowl cast in copper alloy and then finished on a lathe. It is dated to the Roman period and as such is a remarkable survival.

St Anthony’s Cross. This is a silver Tau or T-shaped cross pendant, with a broken loop at the top showing it was worn as an amulet. It dates to the later medieval period.

In this month's Archaeology and History Club we explored the world of Ancient Egypt. We made scarab beetles out of clay and wrote our names using hieroglyphs.

We explored artefacts that told us more about everyday life at the time and acted out the process of mummification.

A military brooch. This is a cast copper alloy Knee Brooch - named for its resemblance to a furniture leg – and probably worn by a soldier.

It is the fourth knee brooch found near the northern end of Ermine Street. Another three lay in a cluster overlooking Dragonby.

Ugly but important. This object was cast as a thin teardrop-shaped plate with a groove at its narrow end. It’s a Roman nail cleaner.
