We're not allowed to use AI in marking despite our university taking a really progressive approach to allowing students to use AI in their assessment tasks. I did break the rule in one case where a student project on AI was just asking for a NotebookLM podcast in response...
I always think it's strange when union members who take no part in their union (apart from paying their fees) get cross about decisions made democratically by union members who are more involved. Don't get mad, get <strike>even</strike> active! 🤣
One of my students made a flappybird game where you're a fish swimming thru a C major scale (use space bar). You have to use your ear to know which pitch to fly thru..scratch.mit.edu/projects/118....
Sherina really inspired by @willkuhn-music.bsky.social and @ethanhein.bsky.social

I published my whole Technology in Music Education course publicly this year. The big change was letting students choose what we covered after the 5 opening "Skills" weeks - and then letting them design their assessment even more than ever, too. humberstone.craft.me/TME2025
Set to Tech is a simple, easy to follow, assistance tool for teachers and students to help decipher the technical setup of audio equipment correctly, efficiently, and safely!

Music makers who changed the tune
“Music Makers Who Changed the Tune” is a children’s book series concept (with some prototypes) that celebrates the boundary-breakers, sound-shapers, and creative minds who have transformed the world of music.

Athens. I love this city. Here to give a paper about my Hip-Hop version of Homer’s Odyssey
Migrating from Facebook to Bluesky in hope of a more positive social media experience. Looking for music, art, culture, quality news and a bit of satire to fill my feed in case anyone has recommendations.

What I learned from advocacy and policy work for #MusicEducation last year
Well, I was on TV! Don’t forget to sign the petition if you’re in NSW! youtu.be/MEc8Jz16MEE?... and the petition - bit.ly/MusicPetition
By the way, you should totally sign this petition if you live in NSW www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/la/pages/epe...
Hey bluesky friends, check out this song we released earlier this year … www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzaP...
Wonderful!
I really must finish marking this PhD today. Wait, Black Friday sales are up already?
As you probably know, I’m the union delegate in my school. We are finally starting to have some success with decasualiation (after the longest industrial dispute Australian tertiary history) … but it’s still horrible for those who aren’t successful.
This was helpful, thanks Marc!
Giving BlueSkye a second go because @ethanhein.bsky.social and Alison Armstrong said I should. Mostly just want a community of #MusicTeachers #MusicEducation and #MusicTechnology who care; & if there are #CriticalScholars here, that’s a great bonus.

Saw Moulin Rouge in Melbourne. Staging and lighting were amazing. Music was cheesey which is good in this context. Leads weren’t all brilliant.
