This was The Beatles’ final public performance — their legendary rooftop concert on January 30, 1969.The show wasn’t publicly announced, so it took everyone by complete surprise. Crowds quickly gathered on the streets and nearby rooftops as the Fab Four rocked Savile Row

Emperor penguins, Antarctic fur seals now endangered due to climate change The iconic emperor penguin and the Antarctic fur seal are edging closer to extinction, according to a projection by the world's largest environmental network.

I don’t want to live in a world without emperor penguins.

In retrospect, seems bad that we played Fox News 24/7 on USAmerican military bases worldwide for the last 25 years.

Ossoff: "This is a seismic event. This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal. This is an FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections office ... This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections. He tried to steal power when he lost it in 2020."

"Where are the current giants of journalism stepping up to fight these fights?" asks Nicole.

And as Osman Faruqi noted, if Kerry O'Brien was working today, he'd be sacked for these comments.

The hypocrisy of so many at the Walkleys who gave O'Brien a standing ovation was astounding. #GazaGenocide

Racism, homophobia, transphobia and now overt misogyny.

The American right is using the Trump regime to make a country for white Christian straight men.

If people regarded RoboDebt as an obvious affront to due process & common decency, just wait ‘till all our interactions with any sort of bureaucracy are gifted to the relentless, impersonal & calculated logic of AI. RoboDebt on steroids.

Right. As an activist I reached out to many, including those in power and opposition. They ignored Robodebt until the courts found it unlawful at the end of 2019, despite activists such as myself asking them to get onboard the campaign since 2016

Yes, that corner of town looks a complete mess. I hope the council finds it’s been worth it.

Lanyon Family to Pass Publishing Legacy to SA Today The Lanyon family has signed an agreement to sell their newspaper interests to SA Today, with the transfer of ownership of the Sunraysia Daily, Swan Hill Guardian, Gannawarra Times, Broken Hill Times,...

This must have been a very difficult decision for the Lanyon Family to make. I can’t imagine that any media business is finding the new media order easy going. As a former Sunraysia Daily editor I wish the very best for the future for these papers.

As someone who lives in county Vic I started watching the 2022 Block season but I thought all the places ruined their places with the rather large modern barn-like extensions that looked so out of place next to the older-style homes. Just didn’t go together.

Having been by my sister’s side all the way to the very end of her time earlier this year, I do so understand. I admire and respect your choice in all of this. May the journey be as easy for you as it can be. Xx

I’m still there. Just browsing mainly. It’s interesting & sometimes entertaining to just watch the unseemly activity there. I mainly stick to FB and Insta nowadays to talk about my animals.

The obscenity of American preaching One way to get a robust, comparative fix on how obscene American global preaching about human rights has become is (borrowing a vivid image from Caitlin Johnstone) to imagine what the world might thin...

"The world can remain confident that fearlessly conceited American preaching is in zero danger of fading away. The world is also left to wonder, more than ever today if there is any measurable sense of shame left within the primary circle of Washington power."

Attenborough’s new doco is bringing audiences to tears. One voice has gone completely silent in its wake What may turn out to be David Attenborough’s last film might turn out to be his greatest legacy.

A 99 year old who never gives up. Thank whatever deity you believe in for David Attenborough. www.smh.com.au/environment/...

I was among this disgraced judge’s victims. Attempts to honour him are an insult The former High Court judge Dyson Heydon is being rehabilitated in some parts of the legal profession. It’s galling.

Powerful piece. “The men now working to rehabilitate Heydon – many..the same ones who once drank in his chambers – never saw his predation. They weren’t his targets. His charm & wit never came with a proposition. That behaviour was reserved for young women like me.” www.theage.com.au/national/i-w...

Have driven past it myself. I can’t see it improving Daylesford either. Such a pity to see this in such a nice corner of country. Hepburn Shire strikes again. 😠

"the Pentagon review should be the catalyst for the government to get on with the job of forging a relevant, distinctly Australian path for the country’s national security, rather than being dragged along on the coat-tails of a fading Atlantic empire." 💥🎯PJK. #AUKUS
