I think we talked about it a few years ago when we took an impromptu trip to the Oregon Coast!
Hopping in the Bat-chariot and growling, "IT'S NOT A CHARIOT"
Witnessing generationally significant flood disasters in the Pacific Northwest reaffirms why I’m so passionate about watershed restoration projects. I’ve been fortunate to be a part of archaeological studies for several projects throughout the PNW.
Sorry I don't have a more specific answer for you, and to respond to your question with a question, but - what are you good at? what are you excited about learning? I'd recommend whatever that is for a minor
If you're majoring in anthropology with a focus in archaeology, you have a lot of flexibility with minors. Your adviser would be able to help make minor classes fit your schedule the best, but play to your strengths and interests, not necessarily job-focus. I double-minored in sociology and geology.
Which boxes contain buses? That’s none of my business!
Rev Hall tends to have pretty decent HVAC, especially compared to Crystal Ballroom or Star Theater
I’m sure others have written about this, but I’m hardly on social media.
Removal of federal student loan eligibility for nursing programs is terrible and it won’t end there. It signals a clear attack on professions dominated by people the administration sees as useless.
Arts & Sciences are next.
As the holidays approach, a friendly reminder that drunk driving is some real loser shit.
Wild how Knight has dumped a total of $13M into the PAC in the past three years and has (so far) failed to see a meaningful return on his investment. Seems like simply paying more in taxes would be more affordable and politically advantageous for him?
This is a brave, but correct, take
That sounds a lot like the premise to “The West Wing”
i can smell a brick of chat gpt text from a mile off. my geiger counter starts clicking the second a screenshot enters my bubble. i am not going to read a thing that some loser did not even bother to write
As unlikely as that is to come to fruition, I do love the imagination to propose bold (high-budget) infrastructure projects
“Terminator: Dark Fate” answers the question, “what if a movie in the Terminator saga could pass The Bechdel Test?”
"What most clearly sets it apart from other genres is that it’s so rooted in anger and sadness — or their common ancestors: terror, lack, isolation and despair. Metal, one fan told me, is 'a strange road to joy.'" This is so lovely, @btoastie.bsky.social:

The entire country right now:
It’s heartbreaking that this distrust of knowledge and expertise has robbed so many people of their imaginations, of curiosity for the world around them. It’s a sad, pathetic way of seeing things.
We already see literally this *exact* same claim from adults engaged in pseudoarchaeological content - that humans could not have [done whatever they're focusing on]. I worry about how difficult education on the past will become as kids who believe this begin to take notice of adults in popular

No one is better at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory than Chuck Schumer.
Chuck, portrayed by Paul Scheer, a member of the Good Place Committee: "He's got a point. The fair thing for us to do is just keep giving up more and more stuff we want, unilaterally, until this demon is finally happy."
Democrats, coming off a historic national protest against fascism and a country-wide electoral sweep:

A photo of sun streaming through the trees and shining on the damp ground on a hiking trail. Big ferns line the trail and mixed conifers and deciduous trees in fall foliage fill the forest canopy overhead.
Another gorgeous fall day in Portland
Every year when the PNW begins The Long Dark, I think, how much daylight are they actually saving?
"So modern it hurts" made me cackle 🤣
Mamdani got a humanities degree.
His win helps to illustrate that one of the central forces driving higher ed’s dissolution of the humanities is the fear that teaching people how power works can also lead to their interest in seizing it on behalf of the less powerful.
A screen grab from the 2021 kaiju film, “Godzilla vs. Kong”, showing Godzilla blasting his atomic breath attack on the Pensacola naval base.

I rode my bike 36 miles and saw so many people of all ages and activities enjoying the day. It was really cool to see so many folks savoring the day
