The LHS Humanities and Languages Berlin Trip is well underway! This evening we visited the TV Tower which was built during the Cold War. Pupils loved being able to see Berlin at night! 🇩🇪 @larberthigh.bsky.social @lhslanguages.bsky.social
Pupils are up bright and early this morning for our first stop at the East Side Gallery. This is the longest remaining part of the Berlin Wall, now used as an open art gallery!🇩🇪 @larberthigh.bsky.social @lhslanguages.bsky.social
The next stop for our Historians yesterday was the Olympic Stadium. We discussed the 1936 Olympics and the role it played in the Nazi maintenance of power. @larberthigh.bsky.social
We then visited the Brandenburg Gate! 🇩🇪 @larberthigh.bsky.social @lhslanguages.bsky.social
We visited the Berlin Wall Memorial and discussed the role of the wall in the Cold War. @larberthigh.bsky.social @lhslanguages.bsky.social
This morning we visited Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. We learned about the stories of different prisoners and their treatment whilst being held there. @larberthigh.bsky.social @lhslanguages.bsky.social
Next we visited the Reichstag where we discussed the history of the building and had the chance to go into the dome! 🇩🇪 @larberthigh.bsky.social @lhslanguages.bsky.social
