Pulmonary Function Decline in Very Early Diagnosis of Systemic Sclerosis: A Retrospective Longitudinal Single-Center Study. Graphical abstract created using BioRender

Retrospective study of 73 patients with very early dx of SSc showed over 5-year follow-up that baseline DLco/single breath % <70% was assoc. with progression toward definite SSc and shorter time to transition; however, decline could also occur without transition to SSc

Computed tomography demonstrated the recurrence of multiple bilateral pulmonary nodules and masses (A). Follow-up CT in 2024 showed excavation of the nodules into thick-walled cavities with air-fluid levels (B). By 2025, under maintenance rituximab therapy, these cavities collapsed and regressed, leaving only residual parenchymal scarring (C)

AKRiS: An Accurate Tool for Predicting Long-Term Risk for Renal Failure in AAV The Improved ANCA Kidney Risk Score (AKRiS) was best able to differentiate long-term risk for renal failure across all categories, per new research.

Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated statistically significant differences among the 4 risk categories with use of the Improved #ANCA Kidney Risk Score (P <.001). @senefrologia.bsky.social

Hey ChatGPT, write me a fictional paper: these LLMs are willing to commit academic fraud Mainstream chatbots presented varying levels of resistance to deliberate requests for fabrication, study finds.

The findings “should act as a wake-up call to developers on how easy it is to use LLMs to produce misleading and low-quality scientific research”

A diagram titled, "Figure 1. Intravascular Volume Overload," shows a human torso with lungs and the words "Pulmonary edema," "Jugular vein distention," and "Inferior vena cava distention." Additional flowcharts detail decreased cardiac output and arterial underfilling.

A diagram titled, "Figure 1. Intravascular Volume Overload," shows a human torso with lungs and the words "Pulmonary edema," "Jugular vein distention," and "Inferior vena cava distention." Additional flowcharts detail decreased cardiac output and arterial underfilling.

How can volume overload be reliably excluded at the bedside?

📊 This Rational Clinical Examination evaluates the diagnostic accuracy of clinical examination, radiographic imaging, and laboratory testing in assessing volume overload in nonintubated patients.
