New paper from our team finds signif. attrition from Medicaid among young adults w/ medical complexity at age 19 with wide variation by state+diagnosis. Tl;dr: 2 people born with equally severe conditions in 2 different states face very different odds of retaining Medicaid coverage into adulthood.
Drug-related deaths among older adults have quadrupled in the last 20 years, yet most never receive treatment. Stigma, lack of tailored care and other barriers are costing lives. Appreciated the opportunity to write about this with @haroldpollack.bsky.social and Mari.
