I'd like to see a progressive enhancement project that showcases a ton of progressive enhancements in one demo. All browsers show the same content & structure but with a different set of enhancements until broad support converges over time.

Move fast and break things, they say.
But do consider what things you are prepared to break when deciding how fast to move.
Making your own bookmarklets doesn't have to be all that difficult, and @vale.rocks shows you how, step-by-step.

I use a handful of custom bookmarklets for little tweaks and repetitive tasks. When I make something fun, I add it to this collection:
codepen.io/collection/e...
Whenever I feel inspired to whip up a new bookmarklet, I just copy my JavaScript into this bookmarklet creator:

I'm more curious about long-term trends. Have you tracked enough weight data over the years to notice relationships with life events?
I think your handy timeline page is due for an update. I have some serious reflecting to do myself for a little timeline project that I aspire to build one day...
Upon reading this I explored a dozen related posts that you've written over the years. I was previously unaware of your struggle.
It sucks that GLP-1s didn't "calibrate" you. I truly hope you get to feel normal eventually. It's tempting to offer basic advice, but I bet you've seen it all before.
If it's one of them fancy cars where critical functions rely on touchscreen interactions, then any gloves for use while driving must be reliably touchscreen capable.
Web 2.0 was wild, but AI will be dumb beyond comparison.
With today's tech giants and our level of connectivity, the scale of impact is unprecedented. Without proper regulation, we can expect to experience epic societal harm.
Yea, I'm not clear about why yet. I've mostly looked at .page-header and how its height could impact the sticky state. Maybe the parent header element is more relevant because its the actual sticky element that drives the scroll-state. π€
A code diff (short for "difference") which highlights the changes to a CSS file to adjust the padding and margin of a .page-header element.
I enjoyed the video, and I wanted to understand what was causing that flickering during the sticky transition. It seems to be caused by the change in height of the .page-header when its padding changes.
Heres my diff from Chrome Dev Tools
(I just now learned that it can do diffs. Neat!)
Kat's video that was copied by the white house:
"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"
I went ahead and replied to their tweet with the tweet from @mattheweadie.bsky.social showing that Kat's video was posted several days ago.
How do we convince people that we need to protect election integrity from people claiming to fight for election integrity?
βCommon things should be easy, complex things should be possible.β --Lea Verou (paraphrasing Alan Kay)
Which is worse?
Identifying a problem without providing a solution, OR providing a solution without identifying a problem?
How about a real world light source via the webcam API?
I've used face tracking in javascript to rotate a 3D scene before.
I imagine it would be possible to use a flashlight to "cast" css shadows.
Oh and now that this exists, welcome to the list!
This chart shows how efficiently all animals travel. π
And the winner is: human on a bicycle! π²

I got a Chromebook, so I'm mostly installing PWAs.
But I did find it helpful that I could use Tailscale via their Android app within ChromeOS.
I'm adding Good Man Down by Ewert and The Two Dragons to my list of songs for reflecting on the appalling state of the nation.
The song is about a woman leaving, but the words "How could you shoot a good man down?" just ring so loudly right now.
On the flip side, unrelenting insults and baseless accusations from an incompetent authoritarian regime is a great sign you're doing something right.
To all who find themselves in that position, keep up the good work, may the odds be ever in your favor, and RIP to those we've lost.
The latest CDC #measles update bumps the total US cases in 2025 up to 2,255 cases.
And just 23 days into 2026, there have been 416 reported cases, with the majority (338) in South Carolina. This rate may or may not continue, but if it does, there could be over 5,000 cases this year.
Sure thing! I like to turn fun scripts into bookmarklets.
Here is a small collection of bookmarklets I've created over the years:
codepen.io/collection/e...
bsky.app/profile/cwac...
Behold! A slideVars #bookmarklet!
codepen.io/cwacht/pen/y...
I gave it a try but havent gotten it working yet.
Bookmarklets cannot import js modules, so I tried compiling the whole thing (including lit). I got a standalone script that works when pasted into console, but something is not initializing properly when I turn it into a bookmarklet...
The final number of US measles cases in 2025 as reported by the CDC:
2,144
It really did exceed the 2,126 cases reported in 1992...
The next-most-recent milestone is 1991 with 9,643 cases.
#Measles is fully back in the US.
Elimination status may be revoked in the coming weeks.
