Faizah is the real deal and the best chance LA has to get a functioning city council, one focused on fixing real problems for real people.

💌 Thank you to the 200 volunteers who have come out to write over 15,000 postcards for our campaign! 🥹
This is the LAST WEEK to come out and write with us.
Not to "well-actually" this, but...
Since 1925, Street lights in LA have been funded by a parcel tax.
However, this tax is not adjusted for inflation, so periodically the city has to go to the voters to increase the tax.
Absolutely important. We have a robust housing and tenants rights platform up on our website to address anti-displacement and housing affordability on the Westside.
Read my full transportation policy at faizahforla.com/transportation.
If we want stronger communities, we have to build infrastructure that actually brings people together. We can build an LA where our streets serve everyone, not just those who have a car. As a Councilmember, fixing our streets and improving our transportation network will be a top priority for me.
People today are more disconnected and lonelier than they’ve been in decades. Here in Los Angeles, our city’s design plays a role in that isolation. Sprawling neighborhoods with few ways of getting around without a car impact our relationships, our sense of community, and how we engage civically.
And there’s plenty of illegal signs on public property too. I saw one on a poor palm tree. You can report those to 311.
Meanwhile, we keep getting our yard signs stolen. Donate to our campaign so we can replace the stolen signs! Faizahforla.com

Big congrats to Traci for helping CD11 become the largest tenant buyout district since 2023 (1yr AFTER she started) ~$11.2mil from large landlords eliminating existing RSOs.

Community safety and the protection of civil liberties depend on the stability of our communities. Real community safety starts with a robust safety net that provides for the well-being of all Angelenos. Read my full platform on community safety at faizahforla.com.
We cannot police, prosecute, and imprison our way to achieving real safety for everyone. We should instead build on the successful alternative response models that have proven to be a more efficient use of resources.
All Angelenos deserve safe communities, but simply continuing to increase the LAPD budget isn’t the way we will create the safety we all deserve.
No more war crimes. No more innocent lives lost. The war against Iran must end. Stop the madness.
Our recovery and rebuilding efforts must focus on immediate short-term needs for fire survivors, while also planning for a long term recovery that ensures we rebuild the Palisades back stronger and more resilient for all Palisadeans. You can read my full policy platform at faizahforla.com.
Lives were lost, thousands of our community members still remain displaced, and we lost anchoring institutions and small businesses.
Over a year after the devastating Palisades Fire that destroyed over half of structures in the Palisades and left tens of thousands of individuals displaced, our community still faces a long road to recovery.
The Exodus reminds us that even when liberation feels distant, we move toward it anyway, together. Even in the darkest of times we can always find courage in each other.
Right now, we are facing our own uncertainties, much like the moment Jewish ancestors stepped into the unknown after leaving Mitzrayim. And while this is not my tradition, I honor it, because I deeply relate to what Passover asks of us: to keep going, even when the path forward isn’t clear.
Chag sameach! Happy Passover!
Tonight the Jewish community celebrates the first night of Passover. The story of Passover commemorates the Exodus from slavery in Egypt and a journey towards liberation and reminds us that the fight against oppression is universal.
As attacks on trans, non-binary, gender diverse and intersex people continue to escalate across the country, here in Los Angeles we must fight to make sure that our city is not just a safe place for these communities, Los Angeles should be a joyful place for these communities!
Los Angeles has long been a place where trans people and non-binary people have been able to find a safe home.
Today is International Trans Day of Visibility, a day to honor and celebrate the experiences and contributions of trans and non-binary people, but it is also a day to acknowledge the violence and discrimination that people in these communities often face.
A Westside for All of Us
I’m running for city council because the Westside needs an honest leader that will fight for all of us.
In just 5 weeks ballots drop! Voting will be open from May 5th until June 2nd. Let’s bring it home.
The tide is turning. The dollar amount in this lawsuit- $6 million - is low, but the implications are massive.
Tech companies are finally being held liable for designing harmful products. My latest for @nytopinion.nytimes.com (gift link) on why this win matters.

Los Angeles is on the frontlines of the climate crisis. Now more than ever, we need to build a Los Angeles that is responsive to the present and prepared for the future.
The Westside deserves better. We need a climate champion in city hall. Read my full climate policy at faizahforla.com/climate
“When we allow opposition to kill affordable housing in wealthy, predominantly white communities, we are allowing for a perpetuation of the segregation patterns in this city,” Faizah Malik, a lead Public Counsel attorney in the case, said in an interview with LAist.
You can read about our original Venice Dell lawsuit here in LAist, a major impetus for my decision to run for City Council - laist.com/news/housing...
I agree with the Governor! We need to stop prioritizing parking lots over people in LA too. Google Venice Dell. Start at this story by @liamjdillon.com
