While we're grateful to have this murmuration, we came so close to losing it, & the site remains unprotected in the Local Development Plan. In coming months there'll be a consultation on designating new Sites of Local Nature Conservation Importance, so be sure to respond & protect places like this!

Belfast's starling murmuration took centre stage to the delight of audiences across the UK and those watching at Belfast itself.
But did you know we nearly lost it..?
Like many native species, Starlings are rapidly declining in the UK. Urban wildlife sites like the Albert Bridge are vital for biodiversity & connection to nature.
From grassroots action to thoughtful intervention, together we can protect the wildlife that enriches our cities & inspires us all.
