Something Is Brewing in the Pacific That Nobody in Washington Wants to Talk About A super El Niño is forming in the same week federal climate policy is being dismantled. The atmosphere doesn't care about the politics.

Even if dems knock on doors, they have no idea what to say.

Sitting in a cafe as I type listening to a millennial droning about “checking in with one’s boundaries”. Another table is chatting about how they feel guilty about eating out because of how expensive it is and how LePage will change things. I’m in a red part of Maine. We’ve lost all messaging.

If I hear “unprecedented” and “crossing the rubicon” one more time, I’m going to explode. Use words that resonate with rural voters. Damn.

What Democracy?

Lost so many friends in 2015 during the lead up to the election. I was screaming for people to see where our great nation was headed. Spoke to one of those former friends this past week… “I’m sorry, you were right”.

Just saw the body cam footage. As angry as we all are, we need to be angrier. As sad as we are all, we need to be more empathetic. As shocked as we are are, we need to be more prepared for what lies ahead...

Most Americans agree we need to get money out of politics. If that takes a constitutional amendment, then that's what we have to do. And if that's going to take years, then it's all the more reason to begin pushing now.

And a great one you are. :) I’m just saying what a lot of us are thinking. Republicans will scorch the earth to win. Democrats still think decency/reason are strategies. They aren't.Coalition building starts with clarity of purpose, not compromise for its own sake.

Doesn’t take most to cave. Just enough. The wind was at their backs. Why capitulate?

“Modest income” in even Central ME means U can still get a job or hop on a bus, access Wi-Fi. In Wash Co, no public transport. No Wifi. No jobs. Nursing home closed, OB/GYN closed. Your road hasn’t been fixed in 25 years. There's no ACCESS.

Platner’s old Reddit was sloppy. But, rural Mainers don't think those posts are worse than establishment Dems ignoring rural issues. Elder care is collapsing quietly while the state chases urban development grants. Guns & hunting are treated as moral failings, etc. I could go on.

I never said they were all well off or deeply rich. Weird you read that. There are both cultural and economic differences though that make them seem worlds apart. Establishment DEMS can't (or won't) address it. The days of DEMS = blue collar workers are so far gone & the gap is widening.

Opinion | I Thought Graham Platner Was Finished. What I Saw in Maine Changed My Mind.

Southern vs. rural Maine is the same old cultural & economic divide...it mirrors the split between Middle America & left-leaning cities. Until DEMS bridge that gap, they’ll keep losing ground where people feel unseen. Platner seems to understand that. #MEpolitics

In Maine, this is par for the course. Most people I know who need specialized care have to drive to Boston to get it. (6 hours or more.)

A 13-year-old immigrant was arrested in Maine. It took 2 weeks to get her home. The girl, who was in a vehicle stopped near Farmington before Memorial Day and was released after intervention from politicians, is an example of how children have become ensnared in President Donald ...

"Girl"? Sounds like you have alot of "nutty opinions". Including, alienating those people in the middle you'll need some day. But, you do you.

"Nutty opinion". Ok. Keep alienating. When you aren't keyboard warrioring open a book and look up how coalition building works. Pick your battles or you'll lose the war...unbelievable.

That reaction is exactly why authoritarian wannabe Trump got elected. You go keep going on with that antagonism we'll see how this works out for you. Repubs are destroying due process, shredding the Constitution and the OP is outraged over raw milk, which is a real nothingburger. Dems are feckless.
