Yesterday, at the airport, I saw a boy with his father boarding a flight. The boy was wearing an oversized [because he was so young] maga hat and military style rucksack. Looking back, I wonder if he'd be okay putting that hat on his daughter.

The basic needs of people are a lot. My mom spends over $1k a month in supplemental insurance and medicine. She's not sick. If that was the case we'd be looking at 6-10k per month in expenses for assisted living, which exceeds annual income at any point in her life. There's simply no safety net.

I've decided to go back to school. It's clear that AI is a concern per class policies. What I find frustrating is that AI copilot appears to be in all Microsoft Office products. I don't know how to disable it and I can't be sure something won't get tagged in a doc that flags my work as not my own

I was in Chicago for the Phish shows last summer. Its a beautiful city, very clean, and while it may not be as safe as a small town in VT, I never felt concerned while out and about. Of course things happen, but that's true anytime you put a bunch of people in one place. We learn to live together 🧡🖤
