This is such a good and expansive article about what we're facing TODAY with wildfire. How we pitch our futures and personal finances, mental wellbeing, vegetation management, code adoption, and technological limits against the inevitable and unforgiving next spark during an extreme wind event.

But Friday's global stop work order on almost all U.S. aid is dumb and murderous. You need to know about it.

Airborne Lead and Chlorine Levels Soared as L.A. Wildfires Raged The findings give new insight into the dangers of urban wildfires that burn plastics and other chemicals in homes and property.

During the LA wildfires, airborne lead levels surged to 100x the average, and chlorine concentrations reached 40x the norm, even miles from the flames. Toxic spikes = hidden health risks of wildfire smoke beyond danger of the fire itself. See ⤵️

By my count, there were 37 new wildfire starts in SoCal in just the past 48hr — during PDS Red Flag Warning.

None of them became news stories b/c they were all stopped by fire crews within 1-2hrs. During the worst Jan. weather conditions in California history.

Huge, huge props to firefighters. ♥️
