Kenneth Fearing's Loneliest Girl in the World was the first novel in history about losing something in your computer, which is a neat trick, since it was published in 1951.

If you look closely and watch the Goldeneye's eye, you can see his nictitating membrane (or third eyelid) doing its work a couple of times before the duck dives into the water. Video is slowed down so that you can see things more clearly. #wildlife #birds
Spring has never been this quiet.
In Europe, we lost 19% of our birds in 40 years, 60% for farmland birds.
Yet EU laws protecting wildlife, clean air and water are being weakened.

🌳 Orchard meadows are becoming increasingly fragmented each year, and with them, we lose one of Europe’s most species-rich habitats for birds, insects, and wildflowers.
This Friday, April 24th, join us in celebrating #EuropeanOrchardDay and explore these vital landscapes!
This is my favourite graphic.
It's incredible how far DAYTIME solar has already come with almost no batteries.
Just think how this will change with batteries, when instead of daytime solar, we get DISPATCHABLE solar.
The solar boom is only just starting...
It’s 2289 AD and my descendant Augustus M C Smith is an astronaut-poet & a much improved version of ancestor Matt! ✨
I hope you enjoy his ‘Log entry’ for #TopTweetTuesday on Twitter - our challenge - really unfamiliar, super inventive cosmic poems. No cliches, no common words.

Oh yes I have mainly used LyX or LaTeX for over ten years now but Pages can easily create docx which I need for submitting poetry… many sites don’t accept PDF still.
Ridiculously. Maybe I should entries hand-written with my fountain pen :-)
What!
I have signed a letter to the Foreign Secretary about the escalation of deadly Israeli settler violence in the West Bank and Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes.
The letter urges the government to make diplomatic interventions and impose sanctions on Israeli settlements.
I liked the postcard poetry series on your Medium page!
'By the two towers, in Friedrichstrasse
I lived
between two worlds
between two languages...'
The joy of rediscovering this poem, which as I recall, is one in a series of postcard poems written by @davgar51.bsky.social
Oh, thank you!
There are more, I just have to get around to putting them up…
"Warsaw and Kyiv are Russian cities. The question is not whether they need to be taken or not (they do).The question is the price."
Therefore, it is obvious that imperial Russia can only be stopped physically - by destroying Russian occupiers in such numbers that they are unable to advance further
A bland print that can’t decide on the history of 20c art, so bypasses it entirely. But not. Three images: square, rectangle, something else. Bit of light in the square. Blues…
Years far, far, far away and unknown from the now, someone will be studying Travelodge art.
Lost in a magazine… they don’t publish their circulation by the way

Yes
It’s a trade off but I increasingly find the 30 likes more valuable than it being list in a magazine without trace
The tension ruptured and the room collapsed in laughter. We later performed it gor the whole day’s people. Same result. Agtee that I loved performing:-)
Such a great feeling having 300 people hold their breath or laugh together.
I realised I would be last <the horror> .
It started with a line with sadness and silence floating down.
Which irritated me.. and the line ‘What! No singing in the bath?’ Popped into my head, another wouldn’t. So last line I proclaimed it!
Yes, I was certainly reluctant about submitting or going public for years and then in ‘89 heading into a divorce I booked a poetry workshop at the rising sun arts centre in Reading and went along. We wrote a poem everyone doing one line.
I have a Hongdian pocket pen the M2 Black Forest and it is pretty well perfect.
Teal coloured fountain pen
New fountain pen day. This is by Tom’s Studio and is called The Studio. It has a titanium flex nib which I’m very excited about #fountainpens
Yay! I gave an identical one for a month :-) the nib is great, as is the cursive which I got too.
Beware though it seems to positively love rolling. Luckily not uncapped yet.
There’s a great section on this at Jetpens, but yes. Waterproof is meaning some might wash off but not most/all of it.
Platinum carbon is very black and does not budge once dry.
Also Tom’s Studio does a carbon ink (no 60) which works fine and is cheaper ;-) I haven’t seen any reviews of it.
I was able to catch a bit of direct sunlight after work last night and snapped a few pics of my next batch of custom fountain pens! These will be available on my website RusaPenArts.com on April 21st!

It is a hard thing when one has shot sixty-five lions or more, as I have in the course of my life, that the sixty-sixth should chew your leg like a quid of tobacco. It breaks the routine of the thing, & putting other considerations aside, I am an orderly man and don’t like that. This is by the way.
