Closest I can imagine is that it only uses figs that don’t require fig wasps? Apparently the main brand uses a blend of some that do and don’t but that seems a stretch

Activists erased $10 million in student debt for nearly 3,000 HBCU students — and said Biden can d... "We're doing our part, and it's time Biden does his," the Debt Collective said as it erased debt Morehouse College students owed to the school.

Morehouse College transferred every penny of debt they held in collections to the Debt Collective, amounting to $10M for 2800 students. Instead of collecting on it, we canceled it all completely.

This is a no strings attached gift.

Home for the holidays and my hometown has changed the speed limits on a number of roads with varying degrees of new signage. I read the ordinance change months ago but actually driving on the roads now is so disconcerting, even if I agree with the safety purposes of the new lower limits

The mass protest decade: why did the street movements of the 2010s fail? The long read: From Brazil to Egypt, Turkey to Hong Kong, the 2010s saw a series of huge public uprisings. Yet many of them led to the opposite of what they asked for. I spoke to more than 200 partici...

"In the decade from 2010 to 2020, humanity witnessed an explosion of mass protests that seemed to herald profound changes...we can now see how the uprisings preceded – if not necessarily caused – outcomes that were very different from the goals of the protesters."

I adore Hollow Knight and it’s on either device! I also love stardew (500ish hrs 😭) and if you get a steamdeck it’s very easy to mod the game and add some great content to extend the games lifespan for yourself

Social scientists need to talk more abt power.

We who are obsessed w/ the psychology of human behavior must more frequently contend with the workings of power and status and hierarchy in our work.

Far too often, these concepts are absent from our theorizing, and that’s too bad. Let’s do better.

We do it bc it’s easy (the whole farm is shaded by pines) but it’s definitely faster to break down. It’s a lot easier to lay out though imo than a lot of other stuff

The Jolt: Poll shows strong state support for public safety training center A new poll highlights the risks for Democrats with statewide political ambitions who oppose the Atlanta public safety training center, hinting at why so few prominent party leaders have argued against...

I wonder when the AJC will start polling ONLY residents of the City of Atlanta on what they think about Gov Kemp and his (statewide) policies.
